The brightest sights of Yalta

Yalta is an incredibly beautiful city with a largethe number of different attractions, as well as the royal palaces of the Russian Empire. Sights of Yalta store memories of the most famous personalities of the 19th century, as well as holiday-makers of the period of the USSR. Today Yalta is the most popular place for tourism. In summer it is overflowing with vacationers from all over the world, which is not surprising: it's not just the sea, the sun and amazing nature, it's a real museum located in the open air.

The city is located in a large amphitheater,divided into two valleys by the mountain Darsan: the rivers Derekoyka and Wuchang-Su. Through the city there are 7 major tourist routes that have received the status of international and national.

Looking around the sights of Yalta, you cannote the majestic church of St. John Chrysostom. It is one of the first stone structures in the city with an unusual architecture. The temple can be safely called one of the main ornaments of both Yalta and Crimea in general. From everywhere you can see the 45-meter high bell tower of this cathedral. The church, located on Polikurovsky hill in the center of the city, was built in 1832-1837. as the cathedral temple of the city. At its opening there were Nikolay the First with Alexandra Feodorovna. After that Yalta got the status of the city.

But, studying the sights of Yalta, it is worthsay that there is a large number of Orthodox churches here, including the cathedral of A. Nevsky, whose construction is connected with the death of Emperor Alexander II.

Also interesting is the Armenian church, which waserected in 1909-1919 years. It was modeled from the famous church of St. Hripsime, located in Vagharshapat. The Armenian church is located just above the heart of the city, at the top of the mini-Potemkinskaya staircase. The building is decorated with carved figures, arches, and secluded niches.

Considering the sights of Yalta, you can notnot to mention the Embankment, framed by sprawling palm trees and attractions, cafes, bars and restaurants. The architectural background here is represented by different styles. Young Yalta residents have a favorite place to meet - it is a monument to Lenin, hidden behind the palms of the Yalta embankment.

Other places of interest are the pier forpleasure boats and motor ships and a cable car that leads to Darsan. Here in 2004, a sculptural bronze composition "Anton Chekhov and the Lady with a Dog" was installed, which is the work of the Moscow sculptors Fedor and Gennady Parshins.

Certainly, to be in the favorite place of APChekhov and do not go to the house-museum of the classic - an unforgivable mistake for anyone who came to the city of Yalta. Chekhov moved with his mother and sister from Moscow to Yalta in 1898 for health reasons. Here he bought a plot of land where he built a house (the project of LN Shapovalov) and planted a magnificent garden. It was in this city that the most famous works of the author - "Three Sisters", "The Lady with the Dog" were written.
