history of the holiday
When the Day of the tankman had just begun to be celebrated, hiscelebrated in the largest cities. This event was accompanied by a solemn movement of columns from tanks along major streets. In some cities, even thunder salute on this day. In recent years, when the tanker day gained popularity, this holiday became an occasion for meetings of veterans. There are rallies, tank exhibitions, as well as demonstration of extreme driving of military vehicles.
The first tanks
In 1920 in August at the factory "Krasnoe Sormovo"was created the first domestic tank. Thanks to him, as early as 1927, serial production of equipment (armored vehicles) began. Three years later, that is, in 1930, J. Ya. Kotin and M.I. Koshkin (more precisely, the design bureau under their leadership) created a new generation of tanks - KV and T-34. These tanks, in terms of their capabilities and characteristics, had a significant superiority over foreign armored vehicles. T-34 became a real legend and was subsequently recognized as the best tank in the entire Second World War. A cruel test of the skill and courage of the tankers was WWII (Great Patriotic War). In the battles and on the battlefields it was the tank troops that were the main crushing and striking force. They were also the basis for the reliability and stability of the rifle defense. In the battle for Moscow, the tank guard appeared. It was the fourth tank brigade commanded by Colonel ME Katukov. Later he became a well-known marshal of tank forces.
In difficult years our tankmen showed heroism andcourage, worthy of the award and the highest praise. The tankman's day in Russia is celebrated with great scope, paying tribute to the memory of the dead tankmen, thanks to whom we live and are happy every day. For the dedication and courage of 1142 tankmen were awarded high rank Hero of the Soviet Union. Also, high state awards were awarded to 9,000 tank builders, thanks to which our country won. When the tanker's day is celebrated throughout the country, it overflows with pride for our military and our country. I want that in many decades people will not forget about the courage of our compatriots and respect their memory. The hardest years of the war are in the past, and thanks for our dear veterans. There are very few of them left. A drop of attention will warm their soul, do not be callous and unfeeling, they risk their lives for our future. Thank you, dear veterans, for your exploits!
