"Family Weekend" - a movie that was released in 2013. American director Benjamin Epps created a dramatic comedy, doomed to success for the western and Russian viewers in advance.

The plot tells the viewer about the house in whichthere is no question of harmony and mutual understanding. A married couple who is absolutely incapable of finding the time to raise their own children. Unlike his wife, his father is a complete romanticist and idealist, an artist who hangs in the clouds and does not even think about going down to earth and encountering unpleasant and sometimes harsh realities. Differences in temperaments, however, did not prevent these two from creating a pretty cozy family nest and even getting children. Husband and wife lived together for many years, hardly noticing the presence of each other, ignoring the interests, hobbies and values that the rest of the family profess. Nevertheless, the idyll remained only as long as the children did not grow up. Beloved and abandoned to the mercy of fate, the children were forced to "survive" on their own, their self-education and personal formation did not happen under parental supervision.
Despite everything, Emily in her 16 years seemsthe audience is sufficiently positive and educated girl. She has time in school, is fond of sports, well behaved, is a sample of "an exemplary girl." A turning and decisive moment in the fate of not only Emily, but her entire family happens when the girl takes part in responsible competitions - jumping rope. The athlete needs the fans very much, but none of her family members comes to support. At first Emily feels exhausted and abandoned, but then a feeling of rage and indignation seizes her.
It takes an irrevocable decision by the indigenousto change his home life and organize a conspiracy with the other kids. They decide to arrange an ancestral family weekend with trials. They do not just take their parents hostage, but also conduct educational activities that should drive the negligent mother and father, forcing them to think about the family.
