In 1994 in the territory of the Republic of Komi wasa national park "Yugyd va" was established. Its area is about two million hectares. Nowhere in the world is there more such a number of northern forests with untouched wildlife. Mountain peaks, unusual landscapes, ponds with the purest water - all this can be seen by visiting the vast territory of the park.
The territory borders on the Pechora-Ilychskyreserve and includes a part of the natural objects of the Subpolar and Northern Urals. The purpose of the park was to preserve the flora and fauna of the region for future generations of people. Nature here remains in its pristine form. In the local areas you can meet rare animals, see unique plants. Previously, there were hunting grounds of local peoples (Komi-zyrian, Voguls, Mansi).
Since 1995, the national park "Yugyd va"The Komi Republic, together with the adjacent territories, was designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The territory is protected by the state. Known, for example, the Hoffmann glacier, visible from the Saber ridge. At a depth of fifteen meters of water can be seen stony bottom, which indicates an extraordinary purity of water. Park reliefs are lowlands, foothills and mountains. They formed 200 million years ago.

There are almost no settlements in the park where people live. In former times the region was inhabited mainly by nomadic peoples, but now they moved closer to cities and regional centers.

The most famous point on the map is Mount Manaraga.Its height is 1,662 meters. The crest of the top is easily recognizable, it is as if cut by straight lines into five to seven parts. This feature makes it look like a bear's paw, and that's how the name of the mountain is translated. Another name given to it by the Komi people is Unayuraiz. At the foot of the river flows the People, from which the name of the mountain came. Narodnaya is surrounded by other peaks, so it is not as picturesque as Manaraga. Other famous peaks that you can admire in these places are the town of Belfry, the town of Saber, and the second highest in the city of Karpinsky.
In the national park "Yugyd va" growhigh-coniferous forests, about 600 species of higher plants. In the south of the territory a thick cover is covered with grass, there are also cereal plants characteristic of the tundra and floodplain meadows. In the forests there are a lot of lichens and mosses. Among the families of flowering plants there are heather, frontal, rosaceous, about two thousand hectares occupy meadows.
Not only rare plants, but also amazinganimals are found in the Komi national park "Yugyd va". Here constantly live more than 200 species of birds, about 40 species of mammals, a large variety of invertebrates. Guests of the park can see even the animals listed in the Red Book. An example of such an animal is the European mink. In the world there are also few species of creatures such as sables, northern pikas. There are representatives who can be found in other regions of Russia. This, of course, foxes, wolves, wolverines, caresses, brown bears. In recent years, wild boars and a flock of American mink migrated to the territory.
From birds it is necessary to name a black kite,white-tailed eagle, peregrine falcon, which also settled firmly in this area. Near the rivers and swamps come across waterfowl. And in the wild forests inhabit a large number of individuals of the order passerines, as well as black grouse, hazel grouses, wood grouses. Inhabited are the rivers of the park, in which Siberian grayling, whitefish, whitefish and other rare species live. It is worth mentioning also about another animal represented in the Red Book and found in the park: it is a Siberian fart, a small newt from a tailed squad.

The complexity depends on the distances and time of the year chosen for the trip. Naturally, visiting rules are strictly forbidden to leave undistorted wastes in parking lots and along roads, tear down plants, cut down trees and hunt animals.
