Like other monasteries and temples, the Zosim's Desert and in 1918 was closed. On the territory of more than eight years, the agricultural artel was operating.
In the early thirties, the monastery wasconverted into a club. The crosses were demolished, the windows were laid with bricks, and the vaults were blocked by a suspended ceiling. In Naro-Fominsk, as you know, there were fierce battles. But the German could not approach the holy places.
In the sixties on the territory of the monasteryopened a pioneer camp, where children of employees of the Moscow metro rested. Approximately in this period, the north-western tower, and the northeast tower was destroyed. From the monastery wall, only a fifth remained. Here was built a swimming pool, a sports complex, carousels.

In June 2000, the founder of the monastery wasto the face of the Reverend. On the territory of the monastery is a monument to Zosima, made of white marble. In recent years, major repairs have been carried out, but construction work is still ongoing. Although, according to reviews of people visiting the desert, there is an amazing spirit of antiquity. And the construction, which clearly requires restoration, does not spoil the overall picture.
