Leading US aircraft manufacturerTechnique launched its first aircraft in June 1916. To date, Boeing is a huge corporation headquartered in Chicago. The only worthy competitor with the same coverage can be considered only the European company "Airbus".
Its activities in the market of air transportation companybegan with small seaplanes, designed by the founder of the brand, William Boeing. In the 1930s, as well as during the Second World War, the company's profile was rejected in the direction of production of the B-17 serial bombers "Flying Fortress" and B-29. The output of such machines in 1944 was 350 aircraft per month.
The first passenger aircraft of the company was Boeing367-80, whose prototype ten years later, in 1964, was developed and launched in production the most massive model of civilian turbojet aircraft - the 737 series. However, the air giant continued to beat records. Two years later, the largest, capacious and heavy aircraft of that time was designed - Boeing 747. Almost forty years this model held the laurels of the main air hulk, until the release of Airbus A-380 in 2005.
After just over twenty years, the concernlaunches the Boeing 763 model, and in four years - the 757 series. These two lines of winged vehicles are designed for flights for small and medium distances.
Here we should explain a small feature incoding and notation. The 767 series was originally only a modification of the 200. According to the ICAO classification, the aircraft was assigned the abbreviated designation B762, in the usual 4-digit cipher. In 1984, the extended-range version of the V762ER got to work on non-stop transatlantic routes. A year and a half later, in January 1986, a six-and-a-half-meter long previous model, with its own codebook, Boeing 763, or B763, first took off.
A successful decision from the airline quickly gainedpopularity. The model was suitable for making non-stop flights for distances up to 18,000 kilometers, especially cars of the V763ER version. At the same time, it could be delivered to directions where for 747th such number of passengers was not collected, and the fuel consumption was much more economical than its two-story counterpart. A serious increase in the maximum takeoff weight ensured the success of the Boeing 763 model. The photo of the heavenly handsome man instantly filled the front pages of magazines and newspapers. The main customer of the aircraft of this series was the national company American Airlines (American Airlines).
The huge popularity of the model determined itcommercial success in the aviation market. About 700 aircraft are still operated by airlines in the world, and the production of models continues to this day. Boeing 763 of the enhanced version of E, known in the world as the "Bandit" due to its memorable coloring, was purchased for private use by Russian businessman Roman Abramovich.

At a cruising altitude of 12,000 meters, the aircraft completely ran out of fuel and both engines turned off. This happened as a result of the transfer of erroneous information from the engineer to the pilot: the plane was missed at the airport of departure. Together with the engines, the electric power and all the controls were turned off, the pressure in the hydraulic system dropped. An emergency turbine was automatically released, supplying backup devices with electricity generated from the oncoming air flow.
The pilots managed to land the plane on the formermilitary base Gimli in the United States, using the skills of piloting gliders. The base had already changed its profile to a car club, where competitions were held that evening. The plane stopped thirty meters from the audience. None of the passengers and crew was injured. The winged car also remained intact and received the nickname "Gimli glider". Two days later, the plane flew independently from a military base after minor repairs.
May 26, 1991 Boeing 763 AustrianAirlines Lauda Air operated a regular flight NG004 on the route Hong Kong - Bangkok - Vienna. At an altitude of about 7,500 meters, the reverse of the left engine suddenly turned on (reverse thrust of the turbine), and the plane turned sharply to the left. On the left wing of the airliner there was a drop in lift by 25%, it spun and pulled down. The winged car swiftly sped down, picking up speed. After 29 seconds after switching on the reverse, the speed was 0.99 Mach and the Boeing almost overcame the sound barrier, however, due to huge overloads, the plane collapsed in the air at an altitude of 1200 meters above sea level. All 223 passengers of the flight were killed.
In the early fall of 2001, events occurredwhich shook not only the United States of America, but the whole world. On September 11, terrorists seized two aircraft that operated flights of American Airlines, and two aircraft that operated flights of United Airlines, that is, two Boeing 757-200 and two Boeing 767-200. In total, all members of the hijacked aircraft that day were 19 members of terrorist organizations. Both 767s were sent to the left and right towers of the World Trade Center, with a difference of sixteen minutes between collisions. After 25 minutes, the 757th American Airlines crashed into the Pentagon building, and the last plane crashed in Pennsylvania. For the first time in the history of aviation, all aircraft over the territory of the United States and Canada were landed, with the exception of police and medical aircraft. The total death toll was 2977 people, not including 19 terrorists.

However, today, three years after its first commercial flight, the 763rd model is still being produced, and Boeing is accepting applications for the manufacture of such airliners.
