Ostrovtsy village today is experiencing its secondbirth. Not far from the village, cottage villages are being built, the number of residents is growing, life in these places is starting to hit the key. However, it all began not so brightly - once the village of Ostrovtsy, Moscow Region was a small island of economic life with 86 inhabitants, who in total had 12 peasant yards and 16 bobyl yards.
The first evidence of life in these placesScientists and archaeologists refer to the middle of the XII century. It is believed that it was Count Sheremetev who stood at the head of the Russian army when she won the battle of Poltava, for which Peter the First and honored him with numerous awards, and also presented land possessions.

Even more rapid development began in the 60s and 90s of the last century, when the state farm, and then the joint-stock company, began to energetically build a microdistrict from high-rise buildings.

The former village of Ostrovtsy, Moscow Region, is located near the town of Zhukovsky, named after the founder of the Soviet rocketry, and many leaders of this important area were buried in a necropolis specially equipped for them. The territory of the cemetery has 54 sites in which, for example, the Hero of the Soviet Union, Daniel Gaponenko, and a prominent scientist who made many discoveries in aerodynamics — V. V. Sychev. Famous Soviet athletes are buried here.
