As a rule, all underground premises, whethera vegetable store, a basement of a dwelling house, an underground garage or an ordinary cellar, are made of ordinary concrete solution. And this material, as is known, is not an obstacle in the path of water and even moisture, which enters the building in the form of droplets.
Most often in large quantities waterpenetrates into the basement of private houses or cottages. Under the high-rise apartment buildings, the basement and the basement are arranged in a slightly different way, therefore moisture accumulates there much less often, which allows to avoid unnecessary repairs. If you go back to private buildings, then they mainly produce waterproofing from groundwater, since it is these reservoirs that constantly wash away the houses, flood the basements and disable any structures. Sometimes similar incidents can also be found in high-rise buildings that were built in an “unfortunate” place, where the level of underground rivers is too high and sometimes water can be poured, heating the basements of houses.
The most dangerous time for any basement is spring, when snow disappears from the roads and melt rivers can flood any unprotected structure.
Recently very popularuses such material as "Penetron". It is thanks to him that waterproofing of underground structures, even after water gets into them, passes quickly and easily. It is mounted on a moist and perfectly flat surface, dried and then serves for a very long time. An important property of this material is that it is embedded inside the concrete slab and thus not only repels moisture, but also increases the water resistance of the concrete itself. However, as mentioned above, the “Penetron” does not tolerate low temperatures, either during installation or already in place, therefore, the basement will have to be equipped with a heat source.
