After receiving positive resultsregarding efficacy and safety, as well as the cost of development, vaccination against chicken pox for adults and children has been included in immunization programs in some industrialized countries. Today, the massive use of the vaccine is quite common.

It should be noted that in the first placevaccination against chickenpox is used in people at risk. These include, in particular, those suffering from severe chronic diseases, patients with leukemia, patients receiving radiotherapy and immunosuppressants, as well as those for whom organ transplantation is planned.
It is necessary to say that immunization of persons enteringin the risk group, is carried out in the absence of symptoms that would indicate a deficiency in cellular immunity and in accordance with the results of a clinical blood test.
Among the temporary contraindications to vaccinationit should be noted infectious pathologies, including acute course, as well as exacerbation of chronic pathologies. In such cases, the vaccination from chickenpox is postponed until complete recovery or is carried out outside the exacerbation according to medical indications.
Contraindications to immunization include severe immunodeficiency, which has developed as a result of lymphoma, leukemia, HIV infection, the use of high doses of corticosteroids and immunosuppressants.
Vaccination is not carried out by pregnant women andnursing. Vaccination from chickenpox "Varilrix" is not administered to patients prone to allergic reactions to the components of the drug, as well as having allergic reactions in past administrations.
As the observations show, the administration of the vaccine"Varilrix" contributes to the development of persistent immunity. In children up to the age of twelve, the effectiveness of immunization averages about ninety eight percent. In persons over thirteen years, the protective properties of antibodies are estimated to be almost one hundred percent.
