Dolichos is a lianateAn ornamental plant, which is still known as a curly lilac, as well as hyacinth beans. In height, it grows on average by three meters, but there are specimens reaching a mark of ten meters. Brushes of pedicels are covered with flowers of different shades: purple, purple, bright red. Dolichos, grown from seeds of which is popular among gardeners, has a large number of bright green three-bladed sheets of rather large size, which are located on a curling stalk. Inflorescences grow directly from their sinuses. Depending on the conditions created for the plant, the vegetative period of its growth can be from two and a half to seven months. Beginning in July and ending with the second half of September, flowering dolichos occurs. Cultivation from seeds starts in March from sowing. The blossoming of each of the flowers occurs gradually, and one individual inflorescence of the plant blooms on average for 20 days.
Landing
As already mentioned, in March you need toto begin to plant dolichos. Seeds, or rather their shells, are pre-damaged for a better germination (it is best to do this with sandpaper). Then they must be placed in cool, fresh water for a day, changing it several times during this time. After this, you can proceed directly to the very planting of flowers dolichos. Cultivation from seeds at the first stage provides for placing them in containers filled with soil, to a depth of about 3 cm, with a further small dusting from above. To ensure germination in the room it is necessary to create a temperature regime of more than 20 degrees. Seedlings are watered once in 10 days and in May moves to conditions closer to natural (on the veranda or balcony). Plant transplantation to a permanent place is carried out on average a month and a half after the appearance of sprouts and provided that all the frosts have finally passed.
Care
Due to the fact that the plant is very fond of heat,a place for him to choose the appropriate - windless, with a soft and moist soil. After rooting, the seedlings will begin active growth, which must be directed. For this, a band is tied to the support, and even better, each separate stalk of the dolichos. Growing it in this way will make it possible to form an original bush with a large volume, which looks like a lilac. Otherwise, the stem can rot and die. As for irrigation, the plant requires it at least several times a week. During development, the dolichos needs to be fed, which will ensure its rapid development and will allow to extend the growing season.
Seeds for the next year
Color of beans in yellowish color and their beginningdrying is a sign of the seeds being ready for harvest. They are cut and manually cleaned, and then allowed to dry a little. Then they are placed in a glass jar, which is tightly closed. This will prevent the penetration of moisture inside, resulting in the formation of mold on future colors of dolichos. Growing from seeds in this way can be done annually. Note that they contain many vitamins useful to humans and have very good taste qualities, so they are often used for food.
