Bathroom is a room wherethe moisture is constantly concentrated. It settles on the walls, accumulates in corners and recesses, gets to places where it does not get to eliminate it. For example, if there is at least a small gap between the bathroom and the wall, water will penetrate there during showering or other water procedures, and this leads to the appearance of fungus and mold. To avoid this, it is most convenient to use the corners for the bathroom. They are divided into two main types: the first are mounted on top of the tile, the second are stacked under it. Each of them has its advantages and disadvantages.
More common and economical option - a corner for a bathroom made of polyvinyl chloride, which is installed over the edge of the bath and tiles.
With its relatively cheapness this materialhas a number of shortcomings: over time it can turn yellow from the effects of hot water, begin to peel off, and also be propagated mold. Many users argue that in the original form of such a corner for the bathroom will last about a year.
Corner, which is installed under the tile, morepractical, because it will last a long time and will be protected from moisture. However, its installation is carried out only during the cladding of walls and preferably by the hands of an experienced master. Of course, this affects the price, but the result will stay about five years unchanged. Such corners are made of PVC or ceramic. The first must necessarily be covered with tiles, and the latter can be used as an independent decorative element. The gaps between the tiles are sealed with a special mixture to protect the joints, trowel, which for a long time will protect the corner from mold.
It is considered more practical to installa corner for the bathroom under the tile - it is less visible and prone to moisture, and also more durable. But if your plans do not include a large-scale renovation of the bathroom, an overhead corner will do. And if you entrust its installation to a professional, this element of decoration will be insignificantly inscribed in the bathroom interior.
