Engine 2111 continued the series of power plants produced by VAZ, replacing the model 21083 and 2110 on the conveyor belt. This engine is considered the first fully developed domestic injection engine.
Unit 2111 could be installed on the entire line of models "Lada Samara", starting from 2108 to 2115, as well as the "top ten" and its modifications (2110-2112).
Working cycle of the engine VAZ 2111 (injector) -classical, that is carried out in four measures. Fuel into the combustion chamber is fed through injectors. Cylinders are arranged in one row. The camshaft is mounted on top. The internal combustion engine is forced by means of a closed fluid system, and lubrication of the components is ensured by a combined lubrication system.
The engine 2111 in conjunction with the gearbox and the clutch mechanism is a single power unit, which in the engine compartment of the car is fixed on three rubber mounts.
Right (if you look in the direction of movementcar) from the cylinder block is a set of drives: crankshaft, distribution shaft, as well as a pump for pumping through the antifreeze cooling system. The actuators are in the form of toothed pulleys connected by one belt. On the same side, a generator is installed, which is also connected via a poly-V-belt to the crankshaft pulley.
On the left, a thermostat with a temperature sensor is attached to the cylinder block.
In the front of the bottom is a starter.Between it and the generator is the ignition module, from which go high-voltage wires to the candles. In the same place (to the right of the module) there is a probe, immersed in the crankcase of the engine, for manual control of the oil level.
In the back of the BC is a receiver with a fuel rail and injectors, just below is the oil filter, as well as the intake and exhaust manifolds.
First of all, to distinguish the block of cylinders of model 2111from the block 21083 it is possible on the additional holes used for fixing the generator arm, as well as the ignition module and the detonation sensor.
Bolt holes for mounting the head of the blockhave thread size M12 x 1.25. The height of the block, if taken from this distance from the axis of the crankshaft to the site on which the cylinder head is installed, is 194.8 cm. The initial diameter of the cylinder is 82 mm, but the repair boring can be carried out at 0.4 mm or 0.8 mm. The maximum wear of the "mirror" (surface) of the cylinder should not be more than 0.15 mm.
The engine 2111 is equipped with a crankshaft.2112-1005015. In its seats, it is identical to shaft 2108, but its counterweights are of a larger size, and in addition, they have undergone additional factory processing, which resulted in a significant reduction in vibration during rotation, as well as increase its overall reliability.
In size, the pistons of the engine 2111(injector) are similar to those installed on 21083 and also have a shockproof notch on the bottom, ensuring the safety of the valves, if the timing belt has broken.
The difference lies in special grooves forlocking rings, which prevent the displacement of the piston pin. The finger itself differs from what was used on the model 2108. If the outer diameter remained the same, that is, 22 mm, the inner diameter was reduced to 13.5 mm (there were 15). In addition, it was slightly shortened - by 0.5 mm (60.5 mm).
The size of the piston rings was not modified - 82mm, but the connecting rod was altered: its lower head became more massive, the profile was changed, a more durable alloy resistant to mechanical influences was used for its manufacture.
The length of the connecting rod is 121 cm.
The cylinder head of the 2111 injector motor is the same as that of the 21083, the only difference is that the head bolts have a long length.
The camshaft is similar to 2110.Its landing dimensions coincide with the shaft from 2108, but the profile of the cams is somewhat different, which is why the lifting of the valves increased: the intake valves - 9.6 mm, the exhaust - 9.3 mm (by 2108, and those and others rose 9 mm). In addition, the tilting angles of the cams relative to the groove in which the casing belt pulley key of the cylinder head was installed was changed.
Due to the introduced changes the manufacturer managed to improve the characteristics of the engine 2111.
With regard to timing, it is structurally the same as on 21083. The belt (19 mm wide) has 111 teeth with an involute profile.
Due to the fact that after updating the engine in itthe torque increased and the flywheel design was changed: the surface under the clutch increased from 196 to 208 mm, the crown width also increased to 27.5 mm (the former was 20.9), in addition, the size and shape of its teeth changed.
The starter corresponds to the model 2110, the driving gear of which has 9, and not 11 teeth.
On this power unit is installed oil pump 2112, whose difference from the model 2108 is only that the housing cover is made of aluminum, on which the crankshaft sensor is attached.
The water pump in the cooling system is the same as on the 2108.
The generator is marked 9402 3701 (80 A).
The engine is controlled by an electronic unit (ECU). The controllers (Bosch, GM or "January") are suitable for this role.
As the majority of car owners, whosemachines are equipped with the engine 2111, in general the unit is quite reliable: despite the fact that its working resource, declared by the manufacturer, is 250 thousand km, in fact, under the condition of regular maintenance, use of high-quality fuel and technical fluids, its life can be extended to 350 thousand km.
However, despite the transformation, this engine inherited the drawbacks of previous models (21083 and 2110):
From the last drawback you can get rid of, replacing the steel (factory) studs with brass ones.
In conclusion:engine 2111, whose price in Russia is about 60 thousand rubles, is a fairly popular model, and often owners of VAZs, which are still carburetor engines, independently changed them to an injector engine.
