She is also tied to Zero. They are childhood friends, and from the moment the boyfriend appeared in Yuki's house, she wants to support him.

The girl is sure that Kaname is giving her attention, considering her to be something of a favorite hand animal, because they live in different worlds. But he helps Yuki Cross to bring back memories by turning to a vampire. As it turns out later, Yuki also belongs to the Kuran family. The mother, trying to protect her daughter from Rideau, suppressed the vampire essence in her so that the child could live a normal life.
Zero Kyria - comes from a kind of huntersvampires. Four years ago, a vampire attacked his family, his parents died, and the boy had time to bite. Now he can at any moment turn into a vampire of class "E" (a humanoid monster with an irresistible desire to kill). But until that happens, he performs the duties of a Guardian and learns with Yuki. Because of his past, he hates the vampire race and is confident that it is best to destroy them. To maintain discipline and law and order in the school, Zero possesses a “Bloody Rose” - a pistol with deadly bullets for a vampire.
He is no longer helped by blood pills, thereforeYuki is allowed to drink her blood. Zero takes the promise from the girl that when he loses her mind, she will shoot him from the Bloody Rose. He likes Yuki, and everything would be fine if it were not for the fatal bite, turning her into a vampire and a desire to take revenge on all thoroughbred bloodsuckers, to whom his girlfriend now belongs.

Kaname does not like the girl talking to Zero, but she saves a second life, as he may be useful.
After joining the Rideau Academy, Kaname falls intoa real battle with many dilemmas. On the one hand, he cannot kill his uncle and part-time Master, but on the other, he has problems with the Council of Elders. But the skillful distribution of responsibilities helped to avoid tragedy. While the vampires were protecting the students from Rideau and his team, Kaname managed to get rid of the Council and return to the Academy. Then, along with Yuki, he goes to the family estate.
