Biography and creativity
Zdzisław Beksiński was born in Sanok.It is located in the southern part of Poland. In Krakow, he studied architecture. Then he returned to Sanok. For several years I was at the construction site as a foreman. He did not like the work very much. At that time, Zdzislaw Beksiński became interested in painting, sculpture, montage and artistic photography. He was an incredibly innovative master, especially for the communist country. Our hero created sculptures of wire, metal and gypsum. His photographs are stylistically similar to creations in painting. They portrayed wrinkled faces, uneven landscapes. The effect of these objects was intensified by the play of light and shadow. Among the photographs of our hero there are also various heavy images. Later, he concentrated his creative efforts on painting. The first paintings of the artist refer to abstract art, but during the sixties, he gradually turns to surrealism. In the 1970s, the master entered a "fantastic" period. So he called it. This period lasted until the eighties. It was then that he created the most impressive images. In all the canvases, the master paid special attention to each, even the smallest detail. The pictures of our hero, as a rule, are very large in size. They differ in intricacy. The artist himself believed that some of his works are misunderstood, because, in his opinion, they have optimism and some amusement. Almost all exhibitions of the master were successful. It is believed that the first serious success came to him in 1964. Then the Warsaw exhibition took place. All the paintings on it were sold.
The tragic death
In 2005, on February 22, Zdzislaw Beksiński wasHe was found dead in Warsaw, in his own apartment. On his body were 17 stab wounds. Two of them were fatal.
