This article is dedicated to such a famous hero.Dostoevsky's novel, like Porfiry Petrovich. "Crime and Punishment" was published by the author in 1866. In the work of Porphyry is one of the central characters.
Porfiry Petrovich ("Crime and Punishment") -This is an investigator serving in St. Petersburg in one of the police units. He is in the business of robbery and murder of Alena Ivanovna, the old woman, money lenders, as well as Lizaveta, her sister. In the work remains without the names of Porfiry Petrovich ("Crime and Punishment"). His name is not mentioned anywhere (but in The Brothers Karamazov there is a hero Porfiry Petrovich Znamensky). Two months before the events, the investigator drew attention to the article “On crime” written by Raskolnikov (which he learned through the editor, since it was published anonymously). In it, murder was justified for ideological reasons by a man of the “highest rank”.
The basis of the collision between Raskolnikov and PorfiryPetrovich - a dispute about the nature of the crime. The killer, in a conversation with him, expresses his thoughts about the right for "extraordinary people" to a crime. Porphyry, having no evidence, revealing disbelief in God, the dualistic worldview and metaphysical roots of the main character's nihilism, makes him realize that he is exposed. An astute investigator gradually brings the suspect to a nervous breakdown, actually making him confess. However, the appearance of Mikolka, who takes the blame, disrupts the plans of Porfiry Petrovich. Still, he is sure that Mikolka has nothing to do with it. The investigator feels affection for the killer. After all, the sensations of the protagonist were familiar to such a person as Porfiry Petrovich (“Crime and Punishment”). He considers Rodion to be a “terrible fighter” if he is able to find real faith. Porfiry convinces the protagonist to appear with himself in order to regain peace in life. The investigator is represented in the novel by a subtle psychologist and an intelligent man. Constantly eavesdropping as a method of interrogation confuses Raskolnikov and convinces Porfiry that he is the murderer.
Rodion went to the investigator for the first time with a laugh.Porfiry was dressed in a bathrobe, at home, in worn-out shoes and clean linen. He was a man of about 35, full, below average, without sideburns and mustache, shaven, with densely cut hair. Raskolnikov is convinced that Porfiry knows all about him. He does not dissuade him. They argue about the causes and nature of crimes. Porphyrius mentions an article by Rodion written on this subject.
The next meeting was also initiatedRaskolnikov. He already hated this man without measure. However, he was forced to go to him in order to dispel the suspicions that he had brought upon himself by careless behavior. Porfiry Petrovich in a conversation hints to the main character that he is a suspect. He predicts that Raskolnikov will not be sweet freedom and he eventually confesses.
The investigator says terrible things. But he likes to do it in the form of a joke, which hurts Raskolnikov more than hints. Porfiry Petrovich seeks to prosaically dispel the idea of Rodion, to belittle it in his eyes. Raskolnikov turns a comedian into the laughter of the investigator. Rodion rises against humiliation and falls for it.
Only at the last moment drops the mask Porfiry.Petrovich. "Crime and Punishment" - a novel in which the investigator speaks openly with the suspect only when he comes to his apartment. He sympathizes with Rodion, wishes this young man well.
However, Porfiry Petrovich is a provocateur, whose duty is to extract a confession from a suspect. Investigator Raskolnikov compassion. He loves him in his own way, and Rodion cannot determine in any way when Porphyry is serious and when he is joking.
Porphyry - a riddle for Raskolnikov, a magnet, fromwhich he pushes and to which stretches. Will Rodion investigator contrasts his own. This is Porfiry Petrovich ("Crime and Punishment"), which is described in this article.
Раскольников, измотанный страхом разоблачения, suddenly feels like he has weakened. Just coming to the apartment to Rodion, the investigator does not giggle, do not laugh. And this finishes the main character Porfiry Petrovich ("Crime and Punishment"). "In which chapter does this happen?" - the reader may ask a question. In the sixth part of the work (second chapter).
Gradually, Rodion realizes that he is not at allNapoleon and not in a position, like his idol, who sacrificed quietly the lives of many people, to cope with his conscience after the murder of only one old woman. Raskolnikov feels that his crime, unlike the actions of the French emperor, is unaesthetic, shameful. He is trying to understand where he made a mistake. The main character thinks: "The old woman is nonsense!" He “killed the principle”, could not step over ordinary human feelings.
