Jamshid Zakirov: biography (brief)

Honored Artist of Uzbekistan, a famous film andtheater actor, as well as a TV presenter, Jamshid Karimovich was born in the city of Tashkent on July 11, 1948. His father is the opera singer Karim Zakirov. Jamshid studied in Tashkent and in 1971 received a diploma from a famous theatrical institute in Soviet times. He received his first theater and acting education in the Uzbekfilm theater workshop. The beginning of a creative career took place in Uzbekistan, in the national and Russian drama theater.

Jamshid Karimovich Zakirov died in Tashkent, after a long illness, on April 7, 2012.

Family and personal life

Jamshid's father was born in a family of simple workersin 1912. His family understood and appreciated art, so Karim Zakirov became the founder of the Zakirovs' creative dynasty. He had an excellent memory, exceptional hearing, a rare baritone by nature - this allowed him to go on stage. Karim Zakirov was the founder of opera in Uzbekistan. In 1939 he was awarded the title of People's Artist of the USSR. He was a performer of more than 30 parties in the Bolshoi Academic Theater named after Alisher Navoi. He performed arias in the opera “Farhad and Shirin” (Farhad), the aria of Mulla-Dosta in “The Tricks of Mysar”. Opera enjoyed incredible fame. Karim Zakirov died in 1977.

Mother called Shoista Saidova.Was born in 1922 in a rich family, which during the times of collectivization was expropriated. Her father, Said-Kori, was a literate man, recited the Koran by heart and knew seven languages. Shoista performed folk lyapary. She studied in Moscow in the opera studio, where she met her future husband Karim. Soon they got married. Their firstborn, Batyr, was born. After studying, Shoista began working in the Mukimi Musical Comedy Theater. She was a woman with a strong character and a keen sense of justice. There were five sons and one daughter in the Zakirov family. Two became national artists, and two –deserved artists of Uzbekistan. Shoista lived to be 80 years old and died in 2000.

Older brother Zakirov Batyr was an artist,a writer, actor and singer. He recited poems by Akhmatova and Tsvetaeva by heart. Contributed to the formation of pop art in the country. In 1957 in Moscow at the All-Russian Festival, an orchestra under the direction of Batyr Zakirov received an award for performing a song about his native Uzbekistan. His mother wrote words and music to the song. The orchestra included sister Louise. In 1966, Batyr was honored to sing on the stage of the Paris Olympia hall. Batyr died in 1985, he was only 49 years old.

The second brother, Farrukh Zakirov, is also known in the republic. He was the head of the instrumental ensemble "Yalla", a singer, actor and composer.

The only sister - Louise was alsotalented actress and singer. She had a bewitching voice. She sang Indian and Indonesian songs. In her adolescence, Louise sang in front of Jawaharlal Nehru. He was delighted and gave the girl presents. She was inseparable from Batyr, they acted together. Between them was a strong affection and friendship. And after his death, Louise could not speak alone and left the stage. Then she left for America with her family.

Jamshid Zakirov was married to Gavhar Zakirovna,She was Honored Artist of the Uzbek USSR. The girl studied at the Tashkent Theater and Art Institute, and in 1971 received a diploma. Jamshid and Gavkhar had an only son, Jawahir Zakirov. He always toured with his parents. Together with his wife, Jamshid Karimovich performed in the theater, on radio and television, festivals, on various anniversaries. They always brought a holiday with them.

Now Jawahir Jamshidovich is a singer, a famous actor and director. He has a wife and three children. A girl and two boys.

Niece - Nargiz Zakirova, born in 1970,is the daughter of Louise and Pulat Mordukhaev. Also became a singer. In 1984 she was awarded the Audience Award at Jurmala-86. On the show “Voice” producer Maxim Fadeev noticed her. Nargiz starred in several videos and recorded a number of solo songs.
