The Archangel Tyrael is one of the most unusualcharacters in the game Diablo 3. During the events of the second and third part, he plays a key role in confronting the demons of evil and the salvation of mankind. About him and will be discussed in the article.
The history of the Diablo universe revolves aroundthe eternal confrontation of the angels of Heaven and the demons of Hell. It would seem very trivial, but during the eternal war, both sides begin to notice that besides them there is someone else.
These at first sight ordinary bipedal creatureswere able to do deeds worthy of both the most exalted angel and the most vile and demon demon. Gradually, the participants in the conflict began to attract people to their side in order to shift the balance of power in their favor.
Then in Heaven a council was held, where it was decidedthe fate of humanity: save or destroy. It was the voice of Justice - the archangel Tireel became decisive. The world of the Sanctuary, inhabited by people, was hidden from the eyes of both, so that the inhabitants could decide for themselves their own destiny.
But among the demons there were several brothers,who refused to comply with this treaty. The most powerful among them was Diablo. And then the confrontation between people gravitating towards the heavens began, and evil, wishing to destroy everything and rule the Underworld.
In the first part of the demon Diablo was defeated by the main character and imprisoned in the Stone of Souls.
Being an ardent supporter of the bright heavens, Aidanstuck this artifact into his forehead, imprisoning the devil's essence in his own body. The procedure of capturing demons in human bodies, apparently, is a common thing for the inhabitants of Sanctuary. And this has a reasonable explanation. The first people of this world were Nefalem - creatures born from the union of an angel and a demon.
The magic of the World Stone for centuries hid this world from alien eyes and contributed to the degradation of the Nefalem, suppression of their forces and transformation into ordinary people.
In Diablo 2 the narrative is conducted on behalf of Marius,half-crazy old man who first met the Dark Wanderer, into which the above-mentioned Aidan turned. Over time, the influence of Diablo depleted the hero and where he stepped, fires began, from the flame appeared wicked demons who organized bloody slaughter. Marius crept after him. But the game contains a small hint that he allegedly went not on his own, but was drugged by dark forces, as once King Leoric and Archbishop Lazar.
Gradually, Marius fell under the influence of the DarkWanderer, and they went together to liberate the other members of the devil's family - Baal and Mephisto. The first was sealed in Tal-Rashi's body in the same way as Diablo in Aidan.
Here, for the first time, Archangel Tyrael,blocked the way to the demon of horror. But while Diablo and the angel were fighting each other, a drugged old man released Baal from prison. Good was defeated, and the evil brothers went to Kurast, where he was captured by Mephisto.

Marius also chickened out and did not step into the portal, but instead found a haven in a house for the insane, where he was visited by Baal, who introduced himself as the arch-angel Tireel. Having received the missing piece of stone, the demon went to the Heart of the World to defile him.
There he was stopped by the main character.But even here the Archangel of the Higher Heavens had to make a difficult decision: Baal had time to desecrate the artifact, and then the Tireil's sword destroyed the World Stone. He saved mankind from the curse, but gave birth to a powerful explosion that split Mount Areat and destroyed the tribes of the barbarians who lived side by side.
The stone was for Sanctuary the very essence, asa DNA chain for any living being. The act of the warrior of light led to the complete destruction of the ancient artifact. As a consequence, the world of people is now visible to both angels and demons. But there is also a positive side: the power of Nefalem began to manifest itself again.

The history of his abdication is based on his belief inthe kindness of humanity. On this ground, there was a conflict between the Empire, the defender of the Heavenly Gate, and Tyrael. Angels were forbidden to stand up for the protection of people. But Tyrael decided to break this law.
"If the laws of heaven bind your hands, I can no longer be called your brother" - with these words, the god of justice tore off his angelic armor and lost his wings. So he became mortal.
Archangel accompanies the main character on the plot tothe very end. Tiral is involved in the sweep of Heaven from the flooding demons of the shining chamber. After the battle with Diablo, Tyrael pronounces the final speech about the important role played by an ordinary mortal in the fate of two worlds: human and angelic. In dark times it was Nefalem that became the symbol of valor, honor and hope.
The savior of the two worlds did not rest for long on his laurels, for the soul stone, where Diablo was seized, was stolen by the Angel of Death, in addition to Diablo III: Reaper of Souls.
In the add-on more details about the appearanceNefalemov and how demons and angels, weary of eternal war, began to gradually "run away" from this vicious circle. As already described above, children born from the coition of these two entities became the ancestors of all mankind, who inhabited the Sanctuary.
However, the angels, led by Maltael, personifying death itself, undertook to exterminate all, in whose veins the blood of demons flows. That is, every mortal.
The plot ends with the same speech of the Archangel Tyrael that the hero was able to resist death itself. However, the soul stone was lost, which means that Diablo is still alive and will soon prove himself.
