Compared with the same-name mod to ArmA II, inDayZ Standalone weapons have changed a lot, it has become much smaller. If earlier it was possible, after 20 minutes from the beginning of the game, to find a decent NATO sample equipment, now even in order to assemble the well-known “mosinka” and everything necessary for it, it will take at least one hour. And in order to shoot from it for long distances, you will need more and the scope - and in fact not everyone is suitable.
In DayZ Standalone weapons are divided into three main categories - cold, firearms and throwing. From the latter, there are two more - grenades and bows.
First you should talk about the mechanics.firearms. If you are lucky and during the search you have found the Sporter rifle - you will still have to find ammunition for it. And, unlike fashion, in Standalone, they are not packed in stores that are generously scattered across all buildings. During your wanderings, you will rarely come across boxes with cartridges of various calibers. But to find stores for weapons and fill it with the necessary cartridges - this is a new task for your hero.
If the store or clip you have failedfind, do not despair - one shot you can do by dragging in the inventory unpacked cartridges for weapons. After firing, the mechanism will need to be recharged manually by repeating the operation. Maybe it is not very convenient for firing from the M4 among the crowds of zombies, but you will have a chance to fight off the bandit.
And now a little about the location of this typeLoot in DayZ Standalone. Where are the weapons, especially military - there are gangsters. Therefore, you should not immediately run to the barracks and the bases. It is better to first find something simple and reliable from the "civil". For example, the Sporter 22, the Blaser double-barreled gun, the famous IZH or its “sawn-off” —or if you couldn’t find any of this, get a gun: in civilian buildings and at fire stations you can find FNX45, legendary Colt M1911, CR75, PM IJ -70-17A and occasionally Longhorn. With cartridges for such weapons is also easier - in offices, homes, shops and fire stations you will surely find a pack of ammunition of the right caliber. And if you have the courage to look into the bandits' favorite place - the police station, then you will be able to arm a small team of survivors.
After you have in your inventorythe necessary loot for traveling to DayZ Standalone - weapons and ammunition for it (20-30 pieces), food and drink, basic medicines, bags and clothes, you can leave the city and go deep into Chernarus for research of military bases and tent camps.
NEAF - Northeastern airfield Krasnostava.Not the safest point, but not very popular - there are not many weapons here, the players mostly lose modules, clothes and tools. Sometimes there are ammunition and good samples of weapons, but still not as often as we would like.
NWAF - Northwest airfield.This is the main and favorite place of players (and bandits). You are unlikely to be alone here, because there is a lot of infrastructure in this place (as well as military loot in it). In addition to the standard airfield of fashion, with a pair of administrative buildings, hangars, barracks, a control room and fire stations, in the north there is a tent camp - a real paradise for the player in DayZ Standalone. Weapons are really everywhere, as well as dozens of tents guarded by crowds of zombies. The game is really worth the candle, especially for a small clan. Here you can easily arm 5-6 people in one "call".
BAF - the airfield in the village of Balot, better knownamong Russian-speaking players like Yuzhny. Usually it is closest to the survivor who has just started the game - only two to three hundred meters from the coastal settlement. Here, too, there are gangsters who, for fun, hunt novices, because there are not so many loot here - from the buildings there are just a couple of barracks, hangars, a control tower, an administrative building and several police stations.
Northwest maps DayZ Standalone weaponscan be found at the military base "Veresnik", between Kabanino and Pustoshka, not far from Dychin. Three barracks and one guard room filled with military loot - if not three, then you can equip two players here absolutely for sure. And the zombies here are just a little bit - usually not more than six. It is quite difficult for gangsters to view this place because of the surrounding landscape, so for beginners it usually loses quietly there.
In the south, near the village of Pavlovo, there is the eponymousThe military base where the TEC building is located, four barracks, a hospital and technical premises. Here you can easily get hold of not only weapons, but also medicines.
Nearby, to the west of Myshkino there is a militarycampground, very similar to the one that stands at the NWAF. There are fewer people here, because this location appeared only in DayZ Standalone. Where to find weapons in the DayZ mod to ArmA 2, almost every player who is just starting to play the Standalone version knows, and out of habit runs to get lost on the airfield without even realizing this tent camp.
The guard on the Tower is a small complex onnorthwest map, surrounded by a fence. Usually experienced players start looting from there, thus gaining an advantage in height. It is located, as you might guess, on the Mount Tower, which stands next to the airfield in the north-west. There are not so many loot there - just one building for the guard. But in the courtyard you can fill the flasks with water from the column, which again experienced players like to use.
If during travel you will see far onhorizon black smoke, which brings down from the skeleton of some technology, do not rush to lay the "hook" - it is likely that you are very lucky, and you stumbled upon the crash site of the helicopter, usually called the players "hekrakrash".
They appear on the map in random order,being the main source of obtaining weapons and ammunition of the NATO sample. It is very common for Steyr AUG, familiar to players from Counter-Strike, besides, you can find at least the legendary M4 and, of course, modules and cartridges for them. Sometimes a completely “empty” player comes out of such a place completely ready for battle.
