The official opening took place in 1702, November 15.

In 1811, another educational reform took place, and today's Wroclaw State University began to bear the name of Friedrich-Wilhelm. Postwar Reforms

Fundamental changes at this schoolcame after the end of the Second World War. After the war, today's city of Wroclaw was transferred to Poland.
