Приднепровская государственная академия construction and architecture (PGASA) is located in Dnepropetrovsk. Here they train specialists in the construction and economic sphere. The Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering is a regional leader in training in architecture, industrial and civil engineering.
History of building and architectural academy inDnepropetrovsk is conducted from the “Ekaterinoslav Technical Courses of V.H. Korobochkin”, which were founded in 1910 and expanded in 1912 by the electromechanical and building department. By 1915, 250 students had studied there with a study period of 3.5 years (7 semesters).
In 1917, the Provisional Government of Russia coursesrenamed “First Polytechnic Courses”, which were planned to be transferred to Voronezh. However, already in 1918 the courses were renamed the Technical Institute. In 1921, the future construction academy (Dnepropetrovsk) received a second birth: highly specialized courses were reorganized into the 1st Ekaterinoslav working technical school. In the last year of the courses, about 40 people studied there.
23.03.30 Construction College was reorganized into the Dnipropetrovsk Construction Institute with a change in the form of training from evening to day. The city allocated a section of the former Krestovozdvizhensky cathedral for the construction of an institute building in the block on Chernyshevsky, Zhukovsky, Patorzhinsky and Klara Zetkin streets. The remains of the church building with a facade on the street Patorzhinsky were converted, now here is the building academy. Dnepropetrovsk replenished with a new university that trains specialists in urban planning.
Since 1935, the Institute is officially calledDnipropetrovsk Civil Engineering Institute (DISI). With the outbreak of hostilities with the German fascist troops, students were mobilized into the army. The institute resumed its work on November 1, 1943. The status of the academy was granted in 1994.
It is important for any state to cookprofessional builders, architects, managers, business executives for the construction of residential buildings, road construction, industrial facilities. In central Ukraine, the base for the training of these specialists is the Dnieper Construction Academy, Dnipropetrovsk.
Budget places for admission are distributedaccording to the competition and have a strictly limited number, depending on the specialty. Now about 6,000 students study at the Academy.They are trained by 688 teachers, of whom 52 are doctors of science. The Academy has nine scientific schools, headed by famous scientists. Students are taught in-depth study of foreign languages with internships in many European countries. The Academy has opened a department for the intensive study of foreign languages. In the fourth and fifth years, having mastered in perfect one or two foreign languages, to continue their education in parallel in our academy and in universities in France, Germany, Switzerland.

Building Academy (Dnepropetrovsk) islarge educational and scientific center of the region. Traditionally, almost 1,500 students have actively collaborated with teachers and academics in the implementation of scientific research, the preparation of publications and reports at seminars and conferences, and inventive activity.
Так, в 2014 году в соавторстве со студентами было 186 scientific articles, abstracts were published, 11 patents of Ukraine were received. 46 students took part in the second round of the All-Ukrainian Olympiads, seven of them became the winners received diplomas of І, ІІ and III degrees in the individual and team competition. 36 students participated in All-Ukrainian and international student research competitions, 10 of them became winners.
In addition to conducting basic research, performing applied research, employees of all 39 departments carry out scientific activities in accordance with the departmental thematic plans.
In 2014, budget financing in terms ofperform basic research increased to 500,000 UAH. against UAH 290100 in 2013 and aimed at developing the theoretical foundations for obtaining nanostructured elements and studying their influence on the properties of building steels.
The amount of funding for applied development on2014 amounted to 1.5 million UAH. (in 2013 - UAH 870,000). Funding was provided for an integrated applied research study on the development of the scientific basis for the creation in Ukraine of high-tech socioeconomic complexes.

There is an opportunity to participate in competitions, conferences, prepare reports at the meeting of the student scientific council. Champions and prize-winners of the championships of Ukraine, Europe and the world were brought up at the Academy.
Students are encouraged to participate in numerousamateur activities. You can sing and dance at the balls of first-year students, you can prepare an original number for the festival "Student Spring". And students of the architectural faculty can do design on a computer or come up with and develop a new project for building the center of Dnepropetrovsk or some European city, while studying its history, customs and traditions.
