The American Revolution is a struggle for independence

In 1763 Britain dominated everythingthe North Atlantic continent. This happened after the end of the war, which lasted seven years (1756-1763), and the victory remained for Britain. In its submission was 13 colonies, which were located on the Atlantic coast and the northern lands of Canada. Their residents were unhappy with the situation, so the country's leadership faced a new challenge - how to cope with the indignant people?

In the colony at that time lived about 3 million.human. The northern lands were developed by fishermen, merchants, hunters. People there rich, there were planters and farmers. This is what played the decisive role in the forthcoming revolution, thanks to which the foundations of the American nation were laid. The revolution in America at the time was ripe, as historians believe. Citizens are used to being considered with their opinions, but the British government was far away and did not know the problems of transatlantic settlers. Members of the government believed that foreigners should bring income to them and impose severe restrictions on the trade of colonies.

The approach of the crisis accelerated the victory in the Seven-Yearwar, as a result of which the British authorities intensified colonial oppression because of military debts. Britain introduced unpopular taxes, which could lead people into a rage. Riot began to break out everywhere and the American Revolution was brewing.

All decisions of the British were taken by King GeorgeIII, whose actions were cruel to the citizens of the colonies. In September 1774, the Philadelphia Congress was held, at which the plan for decisive action by the Americans was approved. In May 1775, the IInd Continental Congress was held, at which they proclaimed an independent government. The Boston militia established a regular army, and was led by its landowner George Washington of Virginia. Thus began the American Revolution.

The Americans seized the forts that wereborders of Canada. The British fortified themselves in Boston. The Americans under the command of General Howe went on the offensive. The victory at Bunker Hill gave the colonists confidence in their victory over the British. In 1776, in March, the British left Boston. The revolution in the United States at that time was in full swing.

In July 1776, the ContinentalCongress, which adopted the Declaration of Independence (author - Thomas Jefferson). The American Revolution won its first victory. However, in 1776, General Howe captured Philadelphia, and the army of Washington lost many soldiers. The revolution in America continued. The British had poor planning of actions, they were surrounded by Americans and surrendered their weapons to Saratoy.

French troops came to the aid of the insurgents, they participated on the side of the Americans. Later, Dutch and Spanish troops took part in the war. The Americans already needed independence, but Britain continued to wage war. The revolution in the US became a significant event. In 1778, before the British, a new goal was set-the seizure of southern lands, on which there were large plantations of rice, tobacco and indigo. They conquered Georgia and tried to capture North Carolina. This was their fatal mistake. The Americans retreated to the lands of Virginia, but they pretty much exhausted the enemy. After their troops conducted concerted action with their allies, the British were blocked by French naval vessels and inflicted powerful artillery fire. On this the war was almost over.

In October 1781, the British surrendered, andAmericans won in the struggle for independence. British troops remained in New York, but the fighting against the French was not only there. In 1783 a great event took place in September - the Paris Peace Treaty was signed, which recognized the United States as independent. The American Revolution won!
