Crimean War: briefly about the causes

As a rule, all wars with the Ottoman Empirebegan because of disputes over the regimes of the general straits. The Crimean War was no exception. It was this fact that was the first cause of the disagreements. The second reason was Russia's support for some of the liberation movements that took place in Turkey. It is connected with the fact that the Turks rigidly suppressed in every sense the words of the Orthodox Serbs and other peoples. The third reason is the policy of the leading European powers, which was aimed at weakening the role of our country. Thus, the causes of the Crimean war, briefly described above, in their totality led to a large-scale bloody event. The war was already inevitable.

Crimean War: briefly on the course of action

This battle became a struggle, during whichthere was a change of monarchs: Nikolai the First began to rule, Alexander II replaced him. Everything began as well as possible for our army and navy: a grand victory in the Sinop Bay made Nakhimov one of the best of our fleet commanders. After this great success in the war on the side of the Ottoman Empire entered France and England. From that moment things went badly for our army: a year after the sea victory begins the long defense of Sevastopol. This one-year event will see and recognize in its walls many great people: here is the famous surgeon Pirogov (who first used anesthesia), and the geniuses of our literature (Leo Tolstoy), and the great heroes (such as the sailor Cat), and real commanders who, at a price their lives fought for the city (Nakhimov). It would seem that the outcome of the war is resolved, and it obviously will not be in our favor. However, the Russians did not intend to give up. But luck will smile on them only in 1855, when the storm will take Kars. This was done in order to make life easier for those who defended Sevastopol at the time.

Crimean War: briefly about the reasons for the defeat

So, the war ended for our countrydefeat. But the main thing is what conclusions were drawn from this. First, the country and the authorities realized that the state needs radical reforms; Secondly, it became clear that Russia was lagging behind in terms of industry, and while it would not have a powerful defense complex, it would not be worth waiting for victories; Thirdly, everyone understood well that now it is necessary to raise the authority of the country on the world stage.

Thus, the Crimean War of 1853-1856, briefly onthe reasons and consequences of which were told above, helped Alexander II see that this society needs changes, radical changes are needed. Nevertheless, our country has received new heroes, some of whom have remained at the walls defending the city, while others have more than once declared themselves.
