This most interesting natural object is located on theconsiderable distance from the main tourist destinations. In order to get to it, you need to make some efforts, since the path to the Altai Mountains is not very close. The Uchar waterfall is located on a small river Chulcha, the tributary of Chulyshman. The famous waterfall is located about ten kilometers from the junction of these rivers. And these places deserve to be visited here at least once in your life.
Officially on geographical maps and in somelocal lore documents this place is designated as "Big Chulchi waterfall". Usually under the waterfall it is customary to understand the vertical drop of the water flow from a certain height. And in the strict sense of the word, the Uchar waterfall is not quite a waterfall. There is no steep cliff on this place. Here there is only a stream of water, galloping along the rocks for quite a long distance. According to one of the geological versions, the waterfall was formed here quite recently, in the last century, after the collapsed mountain slope blocked Kulchu. Often the waterfall Uchar is often defined as "cascading" in geographical sources. And this definition can be considered the most accurate. The total height difference between the upper and lower levels of the river is about 160 meters. And the river overcomes this height by several jumps along the large stone ledges.
The trekking usually begins on the shore of Lake Teletskoyeand takes approximately 3 hours in one direction. The first step is to cross Chulyshman to the right bank. Next you need to move up the path. It is easy to read, there is no place to turn from it and therefore there is almost no chance to get lost.
The walk is not the easiest, canFirst climbing skills are required. In several places the path is rather narrow and passes over the precipice. Here, safety ropes are tightened. Particular care should be taken in rainy weather, when the path becomes slippery. On the way, you will have to cross a few small streams, which can suddenly turn into serious obstacles in the event of precipitation. Going to the waterfall, you will have to climb about 300 meters from the starting point. But the noise of the Uchar falls will be heard from a large distance, which greatly improves the orientation. The return journey takes less time, since it is necessary to move from top to bottom.
