Alushta is a modern resort city.Every year in the summer it attracts crowds of tourists from all over the world. The city has its own special infrastructure, pleasing to the eye small cozy streets, along which it is pleasant to walk in the morning and at night. However, the most popular is the central embankment. Alushta is a fairly young and beautiful city, located on the southern coast of the Crimea. There are many fountains, there is a small park. For the most part, the city was formed in the 60's and 80's, but continues to keep pace with the times.
The most important sight of the city -the embankment. Alushta in this place comes to life. At the height of the tourist season, there are always a lot of people here. Everyone is walking and breathing fresh sea air. The embankment is new. There are a lot of beautiful trees and flower beds that make a walk around it especially pleasant. In the evening, the embankment lights up completely. A lot of cafes and bars light their advertising signs, and the city comes to life. On the waterfront there are various attractions, so Alushta is a wonderful city for recreation with children.
In the 16th century, in the place of modern Alushta by the Genoesewas built the fortress of Aluston. Initially, the city, which was called Lusta, began to grow around Aluston. At the time of the modern embankment there was a wharf. Gradually, Lusta acquired great commercial importance.
After the conquest of the Crimea by the Turks, Alushta ceasedbe a trading city and turned into a small settlement on the wreckage of the Genoese fortress. During the Crimean War Turkish troops landed here, and a serious battle took place on the territory of the settlement. It was in him that the future field-marshal M. Kutuzov was wounded.
Until the end of the 19th century, there is no need to talk about the existence of the Alushta embankment. It was rebuilt for a long time.
Alushta embankment has changed especially during the NEP. There were numerous shops and shops, as well as offices of auto services.
A great influence on the appearance of the embankment hadA devastating storm that occurred in the winter of the end of 1940. And for two and a half years of occupation this territory has completely emptied. Only after the liberation of Alushta in 1944, people actively began to rebuild their native city. In 1954, on the embankment, a famous rotunda was erected, which is now the visiting card of Alushta. During the construction and design of the embankment, a large contribution was made by N.D. Stakheev, a Russian merchant and philanthropist.
In 1969, a large section of the seashore againsuffered from a storm. At the same time, the bank protection structures are being built here. Especially during the storms part of the embankment of the Worker (now Professor's) Corner continued to suffer. The storm of 2012, which destroyed this site, served as an excuse for its reconstruction as a gift to the city on the 110th anniversary.
Currently, the embankment of Alushta consists ofthree parts: central, eastern and western. The central part is a place where there are always a lot of tourists. It is in this part that the Rotunda is located. Nearby is the Seaside Park. The western part is called the Professorial Corner. Now this is the newest section of the embankment with beautiful buildings, completely renovated. Here are the best beaches. In this area, new buildings are being built, thanks to which the modern Alushta is being transformed.
East embankment goes to the east fromcentral. By 111 Alushta's birthday, this part was reconstructed after 30 years of total stagnation. The peculiarity of the city is that it is very quiet and peaceful in its outskirts, and when it comes to the sea, more and more animation begins. This is modern Alushta. The embankment street is always crowded with tourists' cars, so it's quite difficult to park here. Sometimes visitors have to leave cars in the professorial corner, but this is just an excuse to stroll along the embankment and enjoy its beauty.
Most tourists go to the South Coast for the sake of recreationsea. Alushta is no exception. There are wide pebbly beaches, some of them are booked for vacationing boarding houses. There are also free beaches. The sea here is very clean. The bottom is even, there are beaches where the depth increases gradually, there you can have a good rest with the children. The bottom of the sea is rocky, mostly covered with pebbles.
