The "Armstrong" ceiling is the most commonsystem of registration. Its popularity is explained by the low price of necessary components, simplicity and speed of installation, ease of care. The "Armstrong" system consists of the construction of profiles, specially attached to the ceiling, and gypsum boards fixed on this structure. In addition, you can attach special raster lamps, ventilation elements, loudspeakers.
Necessary components: profiles, quick-attachments, accessories. The main components required for the Armstrong system are metal profiles. They come in three forms:
- bearing profile (3 meters and 60 centimeters);
- perpendicular additional profile (1 meter and 20 centimeters);
- Transverse additional profile (60 centimeters).
The ceiling of Armstrong in calculations
The length of the profiles is a multiple of 6, since the side of the plate"Armstrong" has a length of 60 cm. In order to calculate the required number of materials, you need to know exactly the size of the room in which the "Armstrong" system will be installed. The ceiling may not be rectangular in this case, and the dimensions should not exceed 3.6 m. This system can be used practically in any room.
In order to calculate the required number of plates and profiles, you need a sheet in the cage. Just remember that one square is not 50х50 cm, but 60х60.
1. Draw a shape that is identical in shape to the ceiling.
2. Through every 2 cells draw a strip - these are load-bearing profiles, the length of which is 3,6 m.
3. Through every 2 squares perpendicularly to the carriers to draw a contrasting color of the strip. These are additional profiles, the length of which is 1.2 m.
4. Connect the additional profiles laterally.
5. Calculate the perimeter and divide the resulting number by 3. This is the number of angular profiles (3 meters in length).
6. Calculate the number of profiles of each color and the number of square-slabs. If you plan to install lamps or other elements, their number must be subtracted from the number of plates.
7. The number of quick-suspension depends on the features of the room. It can be roughly calculated as follows: multiply the number of load-bearing profiles by 3.
Suspended ceiling "Armstrong". The order of installation works
The installation sequence is the same ascalculations. Before installing the "Armstrong" ceiling, you must use the level to determine its lower limit. It is desirable to outline or mark the entire perimeter with a laser. Scheme of further works:
1. Attach the angular profiles. This can be done with the help of self-tapping screws.
2. Mark the mounting points of the main profiles (every 120 centimeters), fasten them with quick-attachments, approximately 3 pieces per profile.
3. Perpendicularly bearing the set profiles length of 120 centimeters.
4. Perpendicular to them, establish profiles with a length of 60 centimeters.
5. Install the plates, lamps.
Exploitation
With competent installation and careful attitude,The ceiling of Armstrong can last many years. Its undoubted advantage is the ability to easily dismantle any part of it to access different sections of the ceiling, if necessary, for example, if the wiring is damaged, the lamps are replaced.
