In Russia, as soon as a young manturns 18 years old, he is called up for military service. For most young men fit for health reasons, the army is inevitable. The exception is only those citizens whose beliefs or beliefs conflict with the principles of military service, as well as those who belong to the small indigenous groups. For them, there is another way to pay homage to the Motherland - an alternative service. However, in order to "serve a citizen", one should not simply be a representative of a small indigenous people, but also adhere to the traditions of their community, village, etc. and have traditional fishing as their main activity.
In our country, most often an alternativeservice comes because of religious beliefs. It does not matter whether a person is in a religious community or not. To make their choice in favor of an alternative option of serving the Motherland, the draftee must personally write an application to the military enlistment office. However, those who decided to take this step should take into account that the alternative service along with some advantages has its drawbacks. It is paid fairly modestly, although it requires a great deal of power. Usually the conscript tries to send to the region remote from his permanent place of residence, however, due to the fact that often it is not possible to positively solve the issue of housing, which should be provided in this case for free, then it is necessary to serve in the same city where he and lives.
Alternative civil service is the firstturn work. Work for the benefit and in the interests of society and Russia. Entering it, the recruit and the enterprise conclude an employment contract with each other. However, it differs from the usual employment contract in that the "alternative" does not have the right to terminate it until the term when the alternative service terminates. There is a whole list of professions that the military commissariat can offer to a young man. Every year, changes are made to this list: concrete workers, wood fellers, drivers, gas welders, divers, loaders, janitors, road workers, livestock keepers, controllers, boilermakers, couriers are not yet a complete list of those jobs that a conscript can perform on a citizen. He can be appointed milkmaid or dish washer, or horse breeder, etc. Most of the specialties that fall into the category of "alternative service" are necessary, but at the same time, difficult and unpromising.
It should be borne in mind that the term of the alternativeservice - almost 2 times more than military. Instead of one year, conscripts serving civilians must work on the spot for 21 months, and in organizations belonging to the armed forces of the Russian Federation - 18 months. In this case, only those days that are worked out completely and excludes absenteeism, periods of additional holidays to students, and also the time when the employee was under arrest for a criminal or administrative offense are counted in the service life. Work days are not counted if the fact of being a person at work in a state of intoxication (alcoholic or narcotic) has been revealed.
Alternative service has a civil status andcan take place in the walls of psychiatric hospitals, even nursing homes, as well as in fire protection, housing and communal services, in the mail, in orphanages. In peacetime, soldiers of the alternative service are engaged in the execution of economic work, they can provide the educational process in the organizations, protect the rear and perform additional work not related to military activities. After the expiration of the established period, citizens are enlisted in the reserve of military forces.
