Mysterious rays
In November 1895, Professor of Physics WilhelmX-rays revealed a rather interesting form of radiation. The rays could freely penetrate through the opaque body, paper, iron, and most importantly, through living tissue! The following year, the scientist with the help of them was able to "take a picture" of his own brush, having received on the photographic plate its image. He could not believe his eyes. "Photo" clearly showed every bone, every phalanx of the finger. X-ray itself called his mysterious find "X-rays."
To begin with, we note that this kind ofWe pass a survey for our life several dozen times, for example, fluorography. And meanwhile, almost 70% of all diagnoses are due to x-rays. They diagnose this or that disease, its scale, determine the stage of the disease, etc. Its extensive use of X-rays was, of course, in the field of traumatology. It is with the help of these rays that one can determine both the presence of the fracture itself and the extent to which surgical intervention is necessary.
And good, and harm ...
Imagine how often you can x-rayif it is needed almost always and everywhere! Under the control of these rays, surgeons perform operations on vessels that are only visible in this way, because with the naked eye one can never find out exactly where the vessel narrowed and how it can be expanded. But note, “can” - does not mean “need”! You shouldn’t be too deceived about this, because for whatever purposes the irradiation is not used - from it, without any doubt, there is radiation harm. However, from a single exposure during the passage of fluorography, no one has yet died, during the summer you and I receive a much larger dose of harmful radiation, sunbathing on the beach under the scorching sun.
How often can x-ray children and pregnant women
No Absolutely no way!Remember that children under 15 years of age, as well as pregnant women are not subject to any X-rays. But for nursing mothers, it will no longer do any harm, because the harmful rays do not have a radiation effect on breast milk. If for some reason the child still needs to be irradiated (for example, take a picture of the lungs), then this is done strictly under the condition that the entire body of the infant will be protected from harmful radiation. Only the area necessary for the image (in our case, the back of the baby) remains open.
X-rays in Moscow, as, indeed, in otherRussian cities, there are two types: -scopy and -graphics. In the first case, the doctor examines his patient in what is called “online”, i.e. directly under x-rays. In the second, a snapshot is taken and it is he who is considered, and not the person himself.
