Lining for a long time remains one of the favorite finishing materials. Thanks to it, cozy, warm and original interiors are created.
Lining - long planed board. It has a groove and a comb for mounting. The material is environmentally friendly, because it is made of wood. Characteristics are close to the characteristics of the tree: durability, ease of installation, high-quality noise insulation.
Used lining for interior and exteriorexterior walls, ceiling. In addition, it can be used for the construction of terraces, gazebos, baths. Thanks to good sound absorption, it even sheathes the walls in cinemas.
Currently, there are several types of lining:
The traditional material for the manufacture of lining - wood. Various species are used, both coniferous and deciduous.
Among conifers, the most common is pine. Spruce is also used, but much less frequently. This is due to the fact that spruce has a loose structure.
All varieties of pine clapboard are suitable forindoor use and exterior wall cladding. But in some areas (for example, a steam room in the bath), such material is not recommended. But the spruce lining is resistant to moisture and mold, so it can be used in places where moisture can get in (baths, balconies, open terraces).
Of the hardwood used alder, ash, maple, aspen, linden. A bit less nut and oak.
В последнее время производят также вагонку, made of other materials (for example, plastic). Such a building material is conventionally called "clapboard" due to the presence of a fastening system "groove-comb".
Lining is produced in accordance with the standardscertain GOST and TU (technical conditions). If GOST is common for all enterprises, then TU is developed by each manufacturer independently. That is why it is difficult to divide the lining into separate types. Each manufacturer can have their own.
Quality depends on the quality of the selected raw materials.finished material. Therefore, such characteristics as the presence of knots and tar pockets, raw material blueness, existing cracks, etc. are chosen as the basis for dividing the lining into varieties. Depending on this, the following grades of lining (or classes) are distinguished:
Products of various grades are manufactured using the same technology. Their division occurs after sorting, as the lining grades differ only in the presence of external defects.
Such lining (grade "extra") differs fullno defects. It has no knots, no cracks, no chips. Most often this grade is made by splicing. This is due to the fact that it is very difficult to make perfect boards from a single piece of wood. Their number is very small. This variety is considered to be elite, it is used for interior decoration of rich country houses.
Accordingly, it has the highest price.such lining - the highest grade. For its safety, manufacturers often pack it in a vacuum. By this, they reduce the likelihood of damage to the product (chips, deformations) during transport and storage. The kit usually includes special mounting hardware. Premium-class wall paneling doesn’t need a fit; it fits perfectly. During installation, care must be taken not to damage the surface of the material, which is covered with protective varnish. Lacquer coating further emphasizes the beauty of wood.
When you purchase you need to be careful.Inspect the material visually to avoid fraud. Do not trust only the labels on the label. There are cases when on top of the package there are ideal boards, and on the bottom - of lower quality. Sellers confident in the quality of the material will not obstruct the inspection.
With lining of the top class according to its characteristicscomparable class A lining. 1 grade from some manufacturers is often better than the highest in others. This is due to discrepancies in the requirements of technical conditions during production. Therefore, in such situations, you need to focus on the appearance of the material.
Differences of the first grade of lining - in the absence offalling knots and through cracks. Small and necessarily non-through cracks occupy a small part of the boards. The absence of blue, rot and black spots is also characteristic.
The knots that are on the material inmust necessarily be bright, healthy and not falling out. Their size does not exceed 1.5 centimeters in diameter. Drop-down knots should be healthy, accrete and not more than 0.5 cm in diameter.
Cracks are allowed up to 9.5 cm long. They are not necessarily through, not plastic, and go to the end of the board.
Defects of a product of this class do not need to be hidden. It is enough to treat the surface with decorative varnish (oil, wax), which will emphasize the natural lines of wood.
Lining-larch (grade 1, as the highest), perfect for interior decoration of residential premises.
Such lining (grade 2) is characterized by the presence ofvisible defects. There are dents, cracks, chips. But their size does not exceed 5 cm per 1 meter of running boards. On the surface of the product there is a blue (up to 10% of the volume), knots, resins, cores. At the ends of the permissible neprostanogka, which does not interfere with installation.
The knots do not exceed two centimeters in diameter, their number is up to one per meter meter of material. If the knots are black, then their diameter should not exceed 1.5 cm. Rotten and falling knots are not allowed.
Permissible plastic cracks facing the end, witha length not exceeding one third of the entire length of the board. Through cracks - no more than 30 cm in length. The length of the plastic through cracks is no more than 15 cm with a width of up to 1 mm.
Places with blue, coloring, grinding are allowed one by one on the board, if their size does not exceed 10x20 cm.
Most defects are formed in the process.production. The existing cracks should not be through or go to the end of the board. Up to 10% rot and a wormhole (up to 3 per linear meter) are possible. For this grade any defects are allowed that do not interfere during the installation of the material.
Existing disadvantages are usually hidden with the help of grouting and painting in dark colors.
This class of lining is a budget option, suitable for most of the population.
Lining is also used for certain rough works and finishing of utility rooms. Grade 3 - the most suitable option. Low product quality explains the minimum cost.
At installation lining of this class is necessarycustomized and painted to hide serious surface defects. It can be drop-down knots, through cracks, the core, the remnants of the bark, chips. Material defects occupy most of the surface.
The distinctive characteristics, due to which emit grades of lining, it is most convenient to compare using the table.
Variety "Extra" | 1st grade | 2 grade | 3rd grade | |
Presence of knots | Not allowed | Up to 1 healthy, light and captive bitch on 1 linear meter | Healthy is permissible. Not more than 1 drop-down (up to 1.5 cm in diameter) per 1 running meter | Are allowed |
Cracks | Not allowed | Valid (not cross-cutting) | Valid (not cross-cutting) | Are allowed |
Core | 3-5% | Less than 20% | Are allowed | Are allowed |
Rot | Not allowed | Not allowed | Less than 10% | Are allowed |
Pitch pockets | Not allowed | Less than 5 cm | Are allowed | Are allowed |
Wormholes | Not allowed | Not allowed | Less than 10% | Are allowed |
Differences in material quality and defectsleads to a difference and prices for clapboard. Equal-looking boards may vary in cost. This can be related to the way in which the material was dried. Dried in the usual way the board has a natural moisture, it is heavier, but almost half cheaper. Material that has been dried in the chamber (it is lighter) is more expensive.
So, pine lining class A, dried in a cell, costs about 200-450 rubles per 1m2, and dried naturally - 130-300 rubles. Dry material from pine varieties B and C will cost 180-350 and 140-250 rubles per 1 m2 respectively.
The price of larch wall paneling is approximately as follows (per square meter):
Lining, regardless of grade, is beautiful andeco-friendly material that is easy to use in work. But choosing the necessary material in the store, you should be careful. It is better to spend a little time checking the purchased products, whether it corresponds to the declared grade. Otherwise, you can make a mistake. This will affect the aesthetic features of the room, which will not look exactly as planned.
