Most people consider their morning drinkstill coffee. Tea as an alternative is mentioned in less than 10% of cases. Perhaps that is why coffee recipes are so diverse. The drink is prepared in many different ways and can include up to a dozen sometimes rather unexpected ingredients. Each person has his own secret: someone thinks that powder should be poured with boiling water, and someone thinks that it should be dipped into water; There are disputes at which moment to properly place the sugar and which spices are best combined with the aroma and peculiar taste of coffee. And with the advent of coffee brewing machines, the drink has become even more available for morning use: it takes less time to make it - you’ll definitely not be late for work.
Those who managed to appreciate the benefits of a coffee machine, usually preferred method of preparation, called espresso. You can’t make one without a special device, although there are people who consider that poured boiled water and ground coffee is not inferior to espresso prepared in a coffee machine. However, you will not receive the obligatory dense foam in this way, and without it it is a completely different drink.
The second most popular subspecies is Americano.Differs from espresso in smaller strength. And no wonder - this kind of drink is obtained by vulgar dilution of espresso with an additional portion of water. Without a modern coffee maker, again, you will not make such a coffee.
And the third option - lungo coffee. We can say that it is somewhere in the middle between the American and espresso: there is less water in it than in the first, but more than in the second, and the same ratio is observed in the strength.
Note that lungo coffee gave the world the sameItalians The name can be translated as "long", "long". The fact is that with the same initial amount of magic powder, the extraction process lasts twice as long (a minute, not 20-30 seconds). Water for lungo coffee is taken more than espresso - up to 60 ml. Due to the fact that a much larger volume of liquid passes through the ground grain, some components are extracted from the beverage, which do not have time to go into it, if you use the technology of espresso. As a result, lungo coffee has more bitterness and caffeine than espresso (and even more so in americano). Except for a longer cooking time, the espresso and lungo recipes do not differ from each other.
Not everyone knows, but you can use such a drink(and necessary, especially in the heat!) cold and with pleasant additives. If there is a coffee machine and you have already prepared a previously unfamiliar kind of favorite drink, make a milk foam separately, pour your lungo into a tall, beautiful glass, add ice (preferably crushed, but can be diced), put the foam and sprinkle with grated chocolate. Refreshes, invigorates. And, most importantly, delicious!
