At present, Russia imports huge quantities ofnumber of foreign movies. Their original names are subject to translation, since they are presented in a foreign language. The name of the picture plays an important role in understanding the film and stirring up interest in it, translators should be responsible so that the Russian version of the translation was very sonorous and significant as the original one. Sometimes there are situations where the title of the film does not correspond to its content, or when the translation lacks genre adaptation.
When translating names, a meaningfulthe number of so-called adaptation strategies. The most elementary is a verbatim or direct translation of the name of the film, which is used in the absence of untranslatable socio-cultural realities and a clear conflict between content and form, for example, the project Welcome to Paradise (1984), which was released in the domestic film entitled "Welcome to paradise!". The reviews called the translation of his name - by tracing.
There is another strategy:called transformation, i.e. change in the name due to various factors - functional, lexical, pragmatic or stylistic. That is, the translation is accompanied by a semantic adaptation, in which the genre or semantic failure of an accurate translation is compensated by the addition or omission of individual lexical elements.
Another strategy that is actively usedinterpreters, is a complete replacement of the name of the movie because it is impossible to reproduce and convey the original meaning of the source text. A vivid example will be the names of the films: Vice (2014), Ins Blaue (2012), Into the Blue (2005), which came out in the domestic rental with the same name - "Welcome to Paradise". Reviews about them were different, however, like the genre and the semantic load.
Domestic rolling project namedirector John Stockwell and screenwriter Matt Johnson sounded quite tempting and in the beginning justified completely. The first minutes of the picture "Welcome to Paradise!" Were described by spectators as an excellent opportunity to admire the wonderful views of the ocean depths of the Bahamas, to assess the figures of the main heroines - half-naked beauties-divers Amanda and Samantha, who, in the company of their fellows, are engaged in the search for the ancient brig. However, then the emotion of the beholder is replaced by anxiety for the fate of the main characters, because young people manage instead of the treasures of antiquity to find a sunken modern plane with a huge lot of heroin.
С этого момента фильм «Добро пожаловать в рай!"Fully justifies the declared genre policy of an adventure thriller. It starts a completely different movie with shootings, explosions and fights. There is no time to contemplate the charms of nature and tanned bodies of the main characters. The pearl of the picture was the performer of the main female role of Jessica Alba. The girl was so good that, fearing excessive criticism, the studio resorted to the help of computer graphics and corrected a number of frames so that her bikini slightly more concealed the figure. This fact did not escape the attention of viewers who looked "Welcome to Paradise!". Their responses were unanimous: "Jessica in a bikini is good, but the film is not very good." Maybe that's why this opus in the US box office did not reach 20 million box office, but it went very well in other countries.
The film is directed by Stephen Jherek and the writerMitchell Kapner, entitled "Welcome to Paradise 2: Reef" (2009) has nothing to do with the original, except for water themes and problems lurking in the depths of the sea. The first thing that caught the eye of the viewer during the viewing of the project was a mass of elastic and tanned female bodies against the background of the affectionate beauty of the beaches, the clear ocean water and the magnificence of the insanely blue sky. Only for one such beauty the tape could be watched. No wonder the film "Welcome to Paradise 2: Reef" reviewed the reviews as "a movie of pretty muzzles and inflated torsos". However, the stars in the cast have diminished. Among the more famous in the filming was attended by Laura Vandervut ("Competitors"). But what could you expect from the project, which immediately came out on video?
Most often the sequel of the famous project, going outimmediately on DVD, does not meet the standard of the original and the expectations of the viewer. But the film "Welcome to Paradise 2: Reef" kept the average result and pleased the viewer with a good story line, performers of the main roles and good camera work. It's difficult to find fault with the technical side of the picture, everything is done perfectly: both plans under the water, and on land. The musical accompaniment also organically fits into the canvas of the film. The plot of the criminal thriller "Welcome to Paradise 2" critics' reviews were called moderately interesting, although the outset seemed somewhat too tight for some. In the film, there is intrigue, it can also be regarded as an argument for viewing.
According to statistics, 40% of foreign films inRussian rentals have names that do not bear a literal translation. The procurers tried to use more intriguing titles to attract a larger audience to view. However, this trick was not justified in two movies with the same title "Welcome to Paradise." Reviews about them are extremely problematic, and they are too restrained.
Quite a low-budget thriller in 2014 Vicedirected by Brian A. Miller, filmed under the script of the creative union of Andre Fabrizio and Jeremy Passmore, critics call an ill-considered attempt to mix in one vial the episodes and styles of science fiction pictures that have become cult: The Matrix, The Western World, Recall Everything, "Blade Runner" and "Robocop". Trying a priori, a failure and also cheap, so "Welcome to Paradise 2", the viewer certainly will not see. Although this could also look like the same "Blade Runner", if it was not created by Ridley Scott, but by some unknown Hollywood studio, stamping in the 80's paintings of the category B.
The film "Welcome to Paradise" (2014)tells the story that happened in a futuristic resort town. The local population of the city are androids, apparently not distinguishable from people. It is on this builds its business respectable businessman Julian (Willis). He represents a unique service - the fulfillment of the dirtiest, forbidden and vicious desires of people. Androids, after all, will endure, and after the procedure they erase the memory, and happy perverts, having paid for the embodiment of their desires, leave the resort. Once the girl-android Kelly (Embir Childers), having kept in memory all atrocities, escapes. Julian sends to her search and capture a whole army of armed robots. The cost of the massacre of the hero Bruce Willis does not worry at all.
To dilute the android action a bithuman emotions, the creators introduce the story of the engineer who created Kelly (Brian Greenberg). Man created a robot in the image and likeness of his wife, so trying to help her. To exacerbate the conflict, the writers are following the fugitives of the battered, experienced detective Roy (Thomas Jane), who is eager to destroy the shameful business of Julian. Bruce Willis does not save the situation, although in another less predictable and superficial film, his appearance as the main antagonist would give the viewer a real pleasure. By the way, this is not the first Miller project, dubbed by critics, in which Willis took part. In August of last year, went into the rental, but sank into oblivion the movie "Prince", over which also worked Jeremy Passmore and Andre Fabrizio. Perhaps this creative team will decide on the third attempt, and the viewer will soon see "Welcome to Paradise 2".
