Compete with Americans in the production of films about man-made accidents and natural disasters is really difficult.
In general, watch disaster movies (the list of the best2013–2015 issue will be presented in this publication) is quite nice, because as always you can predict in advance how it will end, although knowing for sure how exactly everything will happen is unrealistic. The viewer quietly rejoices in his foresight and insight, along the way marveling at the ingenuity and sophistication of the creators-creators. At the same time, plunging into the atmosphere of safe horror, intensified by 3D technology, a person unwittingly identifies himself with the main character. It is these emotions that cause films released in the period from 2013 to 2015. and related to the sub-genre "disaster film".
"San Andreas Rift", directed by BradPeyton is a classic blockbuster disaster. This project is precisely and finely arranged with components that transform it from a banal horror story into a masterpiece of cinema with multilayered overtones. According to the plot, the protagonist Ray (Duane Johnson), the pilot of the rescue team helicopter, failed to save his marriage. His wife Emma (Carla Gugino), taking their baby Blake (Alexandra Daddario), moved to another, better-off man Daniel (Joan Griffith). One day, Ray leaves for an emergency call to Nevada, where a powerful earthquake occurred on the Hoover Dam. At the same time, one of the unrecognized geniuses of science Haze, specializing in studying the causes and predicting the effects of earthquakes, puts forward the theory that this cataclysm is only the first swallow. The fact is that the state of California is undergoing the San Andreas Rift, which has just intensified. And the epicenter will soon become San Francisco, where Ray's daughter is.
Despite the banal plot, clearly following the laws of the genre (who will survive, it is clear from the first minutes of viewing), the film "San Andreas Rift" is an enchanting and impressive spectacle.
Disaster film directed by Stephen Quayle"Towards a storm" forced not only the spectators, but also the most experienced film critics to get into the seat. The authors of the picture presented an incredible tornado to the audience. The creators of visual effects did their best, because the real end of the world takes place on the screen on the microscale of one small town: the skies opened up craters, whole houses and cars float in the air. For greater persuasiveness, screenplay writer John Suetnam ranked his tornado to a non-existent category 6, and the director applies amateur and documentary style that is perfect for such a subgenre as disaster films. At the epicenter are students during the graduation ceremony. Meteorologists are sounding the alarm, warning the population that the worst is yet to come. The inhabitants of the town seek refuge for themselves, but there are desperate guys who decide to shoot a tornado. For the sake of successful shots, they are ready for anything.
Visual effects are the most spectacular.part of the disaster film "Meet the Storm". The key to success was the professionalism of the director of the scriptwriters, the masters of the visual part and the special effects and the generosity of the group of producers of the film.

The graphics of the painting “After our era” are rather strange, sometimes realistic and accurate, sometimes cartoonish. Nevertheless, it is impossible to call the project of director M. Night Shyamalan the worst ever filmed, as well as the dull “home video” of the Smith family. The author, of course, is sometimes overly sentimental, but he manages to keep the viewer in suspense for the entire timing of the painting, and in the final fight with a witty plot twist.
The plot of the picture is somewhat different from the scheme,which is used by all disaster films (the best 2013–2015 list is no exception). The storyline begins after a thousand years after the global cataclysm, because of which the surviving people had to leave Earth and settle on a planet called Nova Prime. One of the central characters, General Cypher Rage (Will Smith) and his son China (Jaden Smith), are returning to a new home, but during an asteroid storm their apparatus crashes on Earth. Cypher is seriously injured; his son, in order to save his father, must travel a considerable distance and turn on the rescue beacon. Teen at every step lurk danger prepared by the hostile environment of the ex-cradle of mankind.
Shaky Tornado tapethe beginning of the original franchise, had a huge popularity and a record audience. Success, as usual, turned the producers around, so the question of the appearance of the sequel was predetermined in advance. "Shark Tornado 2" directed by Anthony Ferrante, released in 2014 and being the plot continuation of the original film, is virtually no different from the first film. This time, the deadly hurricane headed for New York, carrying an armada of bloodthirsty predators. By the will of fate in this city at the same moment are the main characters of the first episode. Naturally, having learned of the impending danger, ignoring the danger, they decide once again to save the citizens who are distraught from fear. The plot narration of the film is perfectly balanced, so the timing is carried at an ideal speed for the thrash tape without the annoying sagging that catastrophe films sometimes suffer from. The list of the best (2013–2015) pictures has been replenished with a real horror thanks to the efforts of the film crew of the project.
Film Pompeii (2014) jointProduced in Germany and Canada, directed by Paul W. S. Anderson, cannot be categorized as a sub-genre of disaster films. This is a spectacular and luxurious spectacle: the creators do not bother with the plot twists and turns, paying more attention to the production of gladiator fights and the romantic line. But everything fades at the moment when, according to the creators' idea, Vesuvius wakes up. Pompeii is drowning in darkness and soot, the earth is shaking, everything is crumbling around. The film does not have any particular directorial finds, it seems that the entire film crew is playing in a volcanic eruption, ruining the ancient city, not without pleasure, generously filling the remains with ashes.
