Today, many Windows users do not evensuspect that their system has a Microsoft Teredo adapter. They learn about its existence only after it leads to any problems. However, they can be solved independently, without resorting to the help of third parties.
The Microsoft Tunnel Adapter is invisiblea Windows operating system tool that ensures the proper functioning of the Teredo network protocol. There are analogues of this adapter in other systems, for example, in Mac OS and BSD they are called Miredo. Nevertheless, they have one function - the transmission of information over the network.
Using the adapter is caused by a lack ofIPv4 addresses due to the growing number of Internet users. IPv6 currently successfully replaces IPv4 addresses, and it is Teredo that allows you to send IPv6 information packets over IPv4 networks. Also, the data transmitted by the tunnel adapter can pass through hardware that operates using NAT technology.
The most common problem with tunnelingthe adapter that users meet is an error issued by a program and containing the following message: "Device can not be started". In this case, the error code is 10. Often, the existence of the Teredo adapter users will know when this error occurs. To solve this problem without consequences, the adapter should be disabled.
Turn off Teredo with rightsadministrator. If the user does not have it, then he should apply for their receipt to his system administrator, who, incidentally, can solve this problem himself. Determine if the appropriate rights are easy: if only one account is installed on the computer, then the user is the administrator.
Find out if this issue is related to Teredo, easily enough. Right-click the Computer icon, then select Properties, then click Device Manager. Find the category of network adapters, click on the plus sign next to it, and the "Teredo ..." item appears in the drop-down menu, next to which is the yellow triangle icon, which indicates the problem on the tunnel adapter side.
The next step is launching the command line.Click the "Start" button, then "Programs", then click "Standard". Right-click on the "Command Line" item and select the startup with administrator rights. A black window opens.
Enter text sfc / scannow and press the Enter key, the driver status will be checked. Restart the computer and reopen the command prompt. Enter text netsh, press Enter. Then enter text interface teredo set state disabled, press Enter. Next, enter text interface isatap set state disabled. Another press of Enter once again, and the problem is solved.
Not all providers switched to IPv6 technologies, andif so, then in this case the method with the command line will not help. Sometimes the "code 10" problem of the tunnel adapter occurs when a virus attack occurs, then you need to scan the system for viruses. If this does not work, you should reinstall the adapter driver.
Open Device Manager, through the tunneladapter, right click and select "Properties", then click "Driver" and select "Delete". Reboot the computer, download the driver from the manufacturer's website and install it. If this did not work, then the Windows system must be reinstalled.
