In our time there is a huge variety of differentfile formats, they are all needed in certain cases. There are audio formats, there are video formats, and there is an electronic document format. The most popular DOC / DOCX in this area, however, the article will not talk about it, but about the less popular PDF. It will be told directly about it: what it is and what is needed, but special attention will be paid to its transformation from other extensions and how to create a PDF file from pictures. PDF and its uses
PDF (portable document format) - universalformat of electronic documents. It is popular not only in the professional environment (offices, publishing houses, large companies, government agencies), but also actively used in personal use. Convenient for:
- reading documents in electronic form (on PC, smartphones, readers);
- unloading documents (text documents, publications) on the Internet;
- transfer of objects (newspapers, magazines, books, brochures, posters) to the printing house;
- convert from other formats and view onthird-party computers without the need to install the source program (layout of newspapers, magazines, books, business cards can be viewed without installing a special layout application or graphics editor);
- scan papers and save them to the desired format;
- collecting a large number of drawings (so as not to send each image separately, as an example, one PDF file can be created from pictures).
Conversion to PDF from another format
If you have a ready-made format that you need to convert, use Acrobat:
- Under the top control panel, find the "Create" button.
- In the pop-up tab, click on "PDF from file".
- In the opened "Open" dialog box, point to the object that you want to convert, click on this icon. Everything is automatically converted.
- In the top control panel, find the "File" icon and the "Save" or "Save As" function.
- In the dialog that appears, specify the path to save the object.
Creating a PDF file from pictures
Sealing a large number of drawings in onewill immediately perform a few cases: it will not be necessary to send a large number of images to the mail and spend time downloading the recipient. It is more convenient to use one application than to click and search each.
Create a PDF file from the images, as an example, you can use two applications:
In Acrobat:
- Under the top control panel, find "Create" and "PDF from file".
- In the opened "Open" window, select the objects that you want to assemble and convert, click on this button.
- At the top of the application, click File and Save or Save As.
- In the window that opens, specify the path to save the document.
In ABBYY FineReader:
- At the top, find the "File" button and the "Open PDF / Image" function.
- In the opened "Open" dialog, select the objects that you want to assemble and convert.
- Under the top panel, click Save or Send, click the arrow and select Save Document As PDF.
- Specify the save path.

Save to PDF
If you use professional desktop publishing systems, graphics editors, word processors, and you have to convert them further, you can do it in the applications themselves.
In a word processor (Microsoft Word, OpenOffice Writer):
- Under the "File" icon, the "Save as ..." function will be displayed.
- In the opened window select PDF.
In graphics (CorelDraw, Adobe Photoshop) and desktop publishing (Adobe InDesign, Quark Xpress) programs:
- At the top of the "File" you need to select the "Export" function.
- In the opened window - PDF.
