The modern flag of Pakistan, the protocol of its use and similar flags

Each state has its own distinctiveattribute, one of the elements of which is the national flag. As a rule, it is always a rectangular panel of a certain coloring with symbolic images on it.

Description of the appearance of the flag, the meaning of the symbolism

The flag of Pakistan is a rectangular canvas, inwhich length and width are related as 3: 2. The field of the cloth is 3/4 dark green. In its left part (at the shaft) is a white vertical strip. On a green background in the center are a white crescent moon and a 5-star star.

In August 1947 the Pakistani flag was officially approved. The meaning of the symbols depicted on it:

• green background - Muslims living in Pakistan, their vast majority, so the green background - the main color;
• white strip - non-Islamic religious minorities living in the territory of the state;
• the white crescent is a symbol of progress;
• The white 5-pointed star marks the light of knowledge.

Local residents call their banner the flag of the crescent and the stars.

Usage protocols

• The national flag of Pakistan should always be on par with other flags or above them. Above it is allowed to lift only the UN flag in the UN buildings.
• The flag should be freely attached to the flagpole by the left side.
• The banner should not touch the ground, shoes or feet.
• The Parliament of Pakistan is the only building on which the national flag always flies. In all other cases, the banner rises at dawn and descends before nightfall.
• Raising and lowering must always take place in a solemn atmosphere and be accompanied by the saluting of the military.
• It is forbidden to lower it to the grave during burial.
• The national symbol should always be respected. It can not be dirty, can not be depicted on household objects.
• On a mandatory basis, the banner rises to its full height on the following dates: 23.03 - Pakistan Day, 14.08 - Independence Day, 25.12 - the birthday of the Muslim leader Mohammed Ali Jinn.

• The national flag is allowed to post onvehicles of the President, Prime Minister, Chairman of the Senate, Speaker of the National Assembly, Chief Justice, provincial governors and some ministers, as well as the ambassadors of Pakistan.

Related flags

All-India Muslim League had its owna flag of a dark green color with a white crescent and a 5-star star in the center. The only difference from the modern Pakistani flag was the absence of a white strip on the left.

The modern flag of Turkey is very similar to the flag of Pakistan. In the center of the rectangular panel are a white crescent moon and a 5-star star. But the background field is bright red.
