The functions of politics in society determine its roleand importance as an institution of social. The number of them is unstable. The more numerous the functions of politics in a particular society, the less this society is developed. The society is a system of interaction of different spheres of human life activity. Ideally, it is internally coordinated, balanced. The needs for each sphere are realized through methods inherent only to it. For example, the economic system, using the material interest of the producer, satisfies the population's need for goods of wide production, in food products. However, in societies of transitional or traditional all spheres are subject to political. Thus, it compensates for the underdevelopment of other areas of life. The social functions of politics, which she performs in this case, are not entirely hers. It interferes too much in all spheres of civil society, right up to its replacement. Due to this influence, opportunities for self-realization of the person are sharply limited. This phenomenon is typical for societies that develop with the help of political and ideological methods. They can achieve great success, despite a limited range of resources. In such societies the use of violence and the inspiration of fear form the external motivation for work. And internal motivation (needs, interests) is not taken into account at all.
The functions of politics in modern society are also numerous. But we can single out only a few basic ones, without which society can not develop normally.
Of course, this is not all functions of politics. They are supplemented and refined depending on its type. For example, the functions of fiscal policy, as part of the financial policy, are to centralize some of the GDP in the state budget and the impact of taxes on different aspects of the activity of their payers
