When getting a second higher education likeAs a rule, a large amount of study time is devoted to the independent work of students. Modular training is best suited for those who are already working in their specialty, since One of its specific features is the possibility of self-mastering the material at an individual pace for each person.
Otherwise, it is also called "block-modularlearning, because the content of the material under study is divided into information blocks with an appropriate number of hours each. The content of the material can be mastered by each student at three levels: in-depth, full and reduced. The student can move within the module from one level of knowledge to another. The result will be evaluated by testing at the end of each topic.
Modular training has a predetermined activity algorithm for a teacher:
1. Reading a review lecture.
2. Conduct practical training.
3. Organization of independent work.
4. Testing for mastering the content of the module.
The modular learning system assumes thatthe student cannot start learning new material until he masters the previous one. Therefore, he can attend classes on a topic that has remained untapped, with students of other groups, increase his study period and acquire knowledge with students of another course, or take an external test. Modular training involves the assessment of knowledge, which is carried out on a set of rating points that can be obtained for oral and written work, for activity, creativity, independent work and help other students. Points are set separately, because Each test has a key and criteria for assessing knowledge. Points are accumulated, summed up and take into account all types of student participation in the work on the topic.
Teacher for the implementation of modularlearning is necessary to think in advance not only the subject of work and hours, it is appropriate, but also to develop tasks for each unit, with which you can determine the level of mastering the content of the material by the student. Individuality of learning is distributed:
- at the time when the student has mastered the topic of the module;
- the degree of independence of the study material;
- on the methods and techniques of teaching each student (or groups of students);
- on the selection of control methods for assessing knowledge.
Modular training has emerged as an alternative.the traditional view, when the transition to a new topic was carried out strictly based on the training time spent, and not on the quality of learning. The principal difference of learning with regard to the modules is:
- setting goals for each selected block and mastering it by all students of the group, but at their own pace;
- communication with the teacher is carried out by typecooperation, when it is possible to discuss methods of mastering the material, jointly interpreting and searching for forms of studying and summarizing the material, finding the module of personal content in the content that is most interesting for studying by this student, i.e. personal approach;
- the maximum emphasis in the training is on self-study, self-control, self-improvement.
Модульное обучение смогло интегрировать в себе all the most progressive types and technologies of obtaining knowledge: a reflexive approach, a phased development of mental actions, programmed learning. The second higher education begins to drastically differ from the first, since the students already motivated to receive or improve their skills in the specialty, aim at a high rate of knowledge acquisition, at their high-quality mastery and the ability to effectively apply in practice.
