The death of the group VELEHENTOR is one ofmost interesting mysteries of the XX century. It is no exaggeration to think that the study and investigation of the circumstances of this tragedy have become a kind of hobby, an intellectual sport for many people.
The history of the last hike Igor Dyatlov
In January 1959, a group of Soviet studentsUral Polytechnic Institute gathered on a tourist trip to Mount Otorten in the Sverdlovsk region. The group consisted of ten people, six students (including the group leader - Igor Dyatlov), three graduates and one instructor of the neighboring tourist base. From Sverdlovsk, they left the train on January 23. The last stronghold of civilization for young people was the geological settlement of the Second North. By the way, here one of the participants of the tourist trip on January 28 experienced health problems and was forced to return to Sverdlovsk. Looking ahead, we say that it saved the life of Yuri Yudin. He lived to be respectable years and died in April 2013. The remaining nine members of the group moved out of the village on skis on the way to the mountains Kholatchakhl and Otorten.

When the tourists did not come home to the positiontime and did not even give any signals that they returned safely to civilization, panic began at the institute. And should have been back on February 12th. The first steps in organizing the search were taken on February 19, 1959. The tent of the guys was found on February 25, empty and strangely cut several times on one side. The bodies of the participants of the campaign were found even before the beginning of May. At different distances from the tent, with strange signs of death, some had horrific injuries to the skull or chest, others froze in the snow, one member of the group literally lacked a tongue (with a clenched jaw, which indicated that it could not be animals). Moreover, they all very quickly left the tent literally without clothes, what they were at that moment. Actually, the reasons forcing the tourists to run away or leave (and the tracks at a distance of hundreds of meters from the tent indicate that they did not run at all) from their shelter into the night and into the frost are the central issue of this whole story, which Dyatlova group got into.

Moreover, there is not a single coherent theory in which all features of the incident fit in: strange skin color in people found after a while, body position, no obvious traces of outsiders, of incomprehensible origin of head and chest injuries, strange tent cuts, it is not clear where they came from traces of radiation on the sweaters of two guys. And I must say that there are already a few dozen of these versions. Among the most worked out: associated with a technological catastrophe, criminal (tourists could be victims of high-ranking military poachers, escaped prisoners and even foreign spies), avalanche, ball lightning and many others. But none of the versions explaining the death of the Dyatlov group, today is not capable of logically and consistently describing all the events of that day. And especially the circumstances that forced tourists to leave the tent. At the same time, supporters of a number of conspiracy versions are confident that the truth about the death of the Dyatlov group is known to the government, which once covered the real causes of the tragedy. Investigator Lev Ivanov, who conducted the case back in 1959, could not reveal the true picture of the incidents (or couldn’t he tell?). In conclusion, until today there is a strange formulation that the death of the Dyatlov group was caused by an unknown elemental force that the tourists could not overcome.
