Far Eastern Avenue St. Petersburg - one of the mainhighways on the right bank of the Nevsky district. The main part of this district of St. Petersburg is called the “Merry Village”. History

Far Eastern Avenue got itsname in honor of the Far Eastern Territory. For 16 years, from 1940 to 1956, it was a segment from Republican to Granitnaya streets and was part of Novocherkassky Avenue. Only in 1962 this name was obtained by a new avenue, stretching along the right bank of the Nevsky district.

New buildings

In 2012, the garages located on a site along Far Eastern Avenue to Kollontay Street were demolished, a huge amount of cubic meters of land was removed and construction of the Rio Housing Complex and social institutions began.
