And those who prefer the classics, can personally enjoy the works brought from the Russian Museum and the Tretyakov Gallery. Of course, this eminent church of art presents the best collections of Bashkir folk and fine art.
Naturally, the Nesterov Museum has its own history. It is located in the mansion, which in 1913 was built by the wealthy merchant Laptev. When the power in the country passed into the hands of the Bolsheviks, the owner of the mansion was killed by the “Reds”.
Soon the Communists organized a headquarters in the mansion.Red Guard. Only in 1919, the local revkomitet committee was able to convince that the household of Laptev was not the most ideal place for headquarters. After some time there was already located a cultural institution - the museum of Nesterov. And even then it was what to show people. The fact is that in 1913, a famous artist presented to his hometown of Ufa several dozen canvases by famous painters of Russia: Levitan, Shishkin, Arkhipov, Polenov, Korovin. It was their paintings that became the foundation of the first collection of the museum. Moreover, the works of painters were originally located in Moscow, and transporting them to the Bashkir capital turned out to be quite a complicated and troublesome task. Nesterov Museum for the first time opened its doors to visitors in January 1920.
Of course, pictures of Mikhail Nesterov are located on a huge exhibition area.
More than a hundred creations by a famous artist, includinggraphics and painting is a huge reservoir in the museum's collection. For the viewer, creations that were created before 1917 are of particular interest. It is in them that the artist most vividly and as much as possible embodied the ideas of the search for a spiritual ideal, the harmony of nature and man.
The exposition has more than a hundred works.Visiting the museum of Nesterov, you can see the unique creations of icon painting ("Evangelists", "Annunciation", "Descent into Hell", etc.). Their authors grasped the basics of drawing in the icon-painting schools of Veliky Novgorod, Moscow and the Russian North.
Among other things, the exhibition presents rare articles of wood, metal, which belong to church utensils.
Here are stored the works of such eminent masters of the brush as V. Borovikovsky, D. Levitsky. Also, the exhibition includes works of serf artists.
The main trend of portrait painters at the end of the 18th century was the gradual transition from medieval canons to new trends.
As for the works of Russian painters, created in the XVIII-XIX centuries, the museum named after M. Nesterov can offer the most unique creations. In particular, we are talking about the paintings of Lev Lagorio (“Italian mountain landscape”) and Sylvester Shchedrin (“Harbor in Sorrento”), and I. Aivazovsky (“Moonlight night in Venice). Shishkin, Savrasov, Stefanovsky, Repin - their colorful works are also regularly on display.
Fans of this genre will have something to see,if they once come to the art museum named after MV Nesterov. The collection was presented by the maestro himself. It includes such works as “Stasov and Artists” (P. Shcherbova), “On the Edge” (E. Polenova), “Portrait of a Girl” (S. Malyutina), “Sentimental Walk” (A. Benoit).
The above collections originate from the moment the museum was founded. At the moment there are more than three thousand paintings by Bashkir artists.
Among them are P. Salmazov, B. Domashnikov, A.Lezhneva, T. Nechaeva, A. Sitdikova and others. Watercolors and drawings by K. Devletkildeev, a true master of the art of drawing, are especially admired by visitors.
It should be noted that in the Nesterov Museum for a long timea retrospective collection of Bashkir painting was created, in which all the stages of its formation and development were recorded. In the first quarter of the 19th century, the Ufa Artistic Circle was formed, whose members held the first exhibitions of painting that laid the foundation for the national perception of the visual arts.
Its formation began in the 20s of the past.century. Most of the works were delivered from the State Museum Fund, and only selected works were purchased by collectors. The paintings belong to the artists of Holland, Germany, France, Italy, Denmark and Belgium.
The museum has a small part of the sculpturalworks performed by Western European masters. In particular, of particular interest is the sculpture "Sleeping Boy", made of marble by an unknown Italian. A genuine admiration of the French sculpture by Claude-Louis Michel, who in the 18th century made unique statues of satyrs and fauns, was made of bronze in the 18th century. At the exhibition you can also get acquainted with the sculptural works of Bashkir masters.
