The Moscow musical theater "Monoton" exists since 1970. Originally it was a studio for talented young people. Since the 90's, it has grown into a real theater.

The name of the theater is formed from two words:"Mono", that is, a single, and "tone" - the mood. Here the main principle of the musical is ciphered.
