Ping is the speed of data exchange betweencomputers. It is measured in milliseconds. For example, if you press the "tab" key in the game "Counter Strike" (in common parlance "Contra"), you can see the numbers in front of your nickname - for example, 150. This means that your computer and the server are exchanging information for one and a half tenths of a second. In principle, this is not bad, but it is empirically verified that this is a ping ceiling for a normal game. If the figure is higher, it is worth switching to another server or lowering the ping. Why? Yes, just after 150 milliseconds, the "matrix" begins. Players are moving in jerks, it's very difficult for you to hit them, and they can shoot around the corner for you - it's not cheating. When you see yourself already gone around the corner, the server draws you only suitable to the corner. Therefore ping, especially high, affects the game more than it seems.
1) FPS - frames per second.
2) Loss - shows the number of packets that werelost during transfer from server to you. The most basic reason for this problem is the small speed of your incoming channel, which is less than the server outgoing channel. To fix it, in most cases it's enough just to "tell" the server about it.
3) Choke - shows how many packets of information your computer can not transfer to the server. The most common reason for this is a busy connection channel or a slow Internet connection.
Since you can not lower the ping withoutediting these parameters, let's look at how to adjust them. With the losse, you can use the cl_updaterate command. The logic is simple - if the loss is absent, then increase the parameter to decrease the ping, and if present, reduce.
Recommended values:
The allocated line is 50-100, the local area is 100.
With chowk we deal with the same scheme, only with the cl_cmdrate command.
Recommended values:
Dedicated line - 65-100, lokalka 100.
How to lower ping with these parameters, wealready figured out. Now is the time for "shamanistic" advice. Sometimes the game itself can slow down. It can happen for a number of reasons, so do the following:
