Konakovskaya GRES - one of the largestpower plants in Russia. The main goal of its construction was to increase the level of energy supply to nearby areas and to strengthen energy links with the nodes of the central and north-western power systems of the country.
Konakovo GRES is located at:Tver region, Konakovo city, Promyshlennaya street, 12. It is located on the bank of the picturesque Ivanovsky reservoir. This power plant is now of federal importance was built in Soviet times and was timed to the 50th anniversary of its foundation.
By the time of launch into commercial operation,it was considered the largest power station in all of Europe. Nowadays, it is the main supplier of electricity in Russia, which provides it with almost the entire central part of the country.
Konakovskaya GRES began to be built in 1962,however, the construction site was prepared in advance. Its construction took place in two stages - four power units each. The first one was launched on January 10, 1965, and the fourth one a year later. At this construction of one stage of the power plant was completed. Seven years after the start of construction, the state district power station commissioned the last, eighth power unit. In 1972, it already operated at full capacity, amounting to 2,400 MW.
Initially, GRES operated on liquid fuel.During the day she burned at least 7-10 thousand tons of fuel oil, which was delivered here by rail. By the end of the 80s of the last century, the power station was finally transferred to natural gas. It works on it to this day, and high-sulfur fuel oil is currently considered to be reserve fuel. Due to the recent modernization of four power units, its installed capacity reached 2520 MW.
In early January 1993, privatization took place.power plant, which was renamed into JSC "Konakovskaya TPP". Since 2004, it has become a branch of the energy company Enel OGK-5. Now it is part of PJSC Enel Russia, which also includes the Nevinnomysskaya, Sredneuralskaya and Reftinskaya power plants.
As mentioned above, Konakovskaya TPPnow running on natural gas. The reserve fuel for it is high-sulfur fuel oil. The required amount of gas to the power plant comes through two independent gas pipelines.
I must say that in the fuel balance of the state district power station shareFuel oil today is less than 0.001%. The warehouse for its storage is equipped with twelve tanks with a capacity of 10 and six reinforced concrete tanks of 20 thousand m³ each. Drain racks located on the territory of a state district power station allow you to immediately dump 132 railway tanks with fuel oil.
Hot water that producesheating of the premises of the power station and residential buildings of the city of Konakovo, is heated at the block-type heat and power plants. They consist of main and peak boilers, drainage coolers and network water pumps. By the way, its source is not only two storage tanks available at the station, but also artesian wells located nearby.
All wastewater, both domestic and faecal, dumped on treatment facilities of the city of Konakovo. Whereas polluted and oily industrial wastewaters get to the treatment plant of the power plant itself.
All control stations, pumps, filters andKonakovka GRES heaters are located in buildings specially built for this purpose. To coordinate the work of the power unit, a block control panel (MCR) is installed. It is used to control the main pumping equipment and other auxiliary systems, SN transformers, a generator, a 6 kV backup power supply, a boiler and a turbine.
The shields of each block are installed in pairs inone room. It is possible to monitor the operation of the electrical circuit and the general station devices, as well as to coordinate the operation of the power units from the main control panel, which is located in the main control room at numbers 1 and 2. All power units without exception are equipped with the Kvint automated process control system.
