Одно из заданий педагогической практики студентов - drawing up the characteristics of the class in which future teachers conduct lessons in their specialty. Conducting educational work with children as a class teacher should be based on the identified problems, which will be reflected in the characteristics.

The class characteristic can be written withbased on the finished scheme or on the results of pedagogical diagnostics with children. For this, students choose such diagnostic methods that would give objective information and would be carried out in a short time, since very little time is devoted to research. Diagnostics can be carried out during class hours or with the help of observation, which is conducted by a couple of students: one leads a lesson or event, and the other records the necessary information in the protocol.

Characteristics of the class includes the results of a comprehensive study:

- fixing the level of health of each student (information is written out from medical records);

- collection of information about the families of students based on the results of a conversation with a teacher or according to a questionnaire, which is being developed in conjunction with a teacher or head of practice;

- analysis of the results of sociometric research to identify relationships in the team (conducted as a “choice in action” or as a questionnaire on the priority choices of each student);

- monitoring the activity of children in the classroom, recording their progress according to the information from the journal, conducting a conversation about the cognitive interests of the students;

- carrying out activities to study the attitude of children to a particular social problem (depending on the age, topics may include smoking, crime, health, family relations, etc.);

- interviewing the entire age parallel on the current school problem in order to determine the rank of this class according to the degree of activity and interest in school life.

Class feature may includeadditionally and a brief description of the school - in order to reflect the level of education in the institution and the requirements for students; analysis of the location of the school (in which area is located, what is the social status of students and their parents). If the student has been practicing in this class for more than one year, it is recommended to track the dynamics of changes in the team by the number of children, by their relationship to each other and to the processes of cognition.

The class characteristic is the basis forthe development of the educational program of the teacher’s actions, since it is precisely in it that the interests of the students and their main problems are reflected. So, if a student has identified a large number of excluded and isolated students, it is necessary to conduct a series of educational activities to unite the class. If it is revealed that students miss a lot of lessons due to illness, a system of work should be organized to form an active position of students aimed at preserving their health.

If a characteristic per class is made upsocial educator, gather information about the standard of living of students, the professions of parents, the provision of benefits to the poor, teachers' visits to children for homework in individual education, etc. A foreign language teacher can additionally include information attitude to a foreign language, attendance of additional classes in the study of culture of other countries or courses of a foreign language, participation in subject Olympiads.

Characteristic class primary school can notbe compiled on the basis of the results of the questionnaire survey of students, since they are not yet able to summarize information, analyze situations. The most commonly used methods of observation, game diagnostics with elements of the experiment and projective techniques in the form of drawings, interpretation of illustrations.

The student makes a conclusion about the relationship of educational work and the characteristics of the class, compiled by him independently, and also attaches a report on the conduct of diagnostics, educational activities with children.
