Repair of the ceiling

The ceiling should be combined with the interior of the room,harmoniously fitting into it, and, certainly, to correspond to taste of the tenant. It would seem that it can be easier than repairing the ceiling - took off the old, dilapidated layer of whitewash, washed and re-painted. But today such coverage is already outdated. There are many ways to trim the ceiling with a creative approach and imagination. Of course, you will have to work a lot, spend money. But such efforts and spent finance will pay off with a beautiful interior.

Repair of the ceiling depends, first of all,how you would like to see it, and then already - from your finances. Of course, the simplest solution is to level, putty, and then cover it with a layer of white enamel. This - in the event that you do not want to "bother" and spend precious time on repairing the ceiling. In addition, this solution is suitable for almost any type of interior.

However, if you have available andtime, and desire, and the necessary means, it makes sense to use a more original way to repair the ceiling. The surface does not have to be white, other colors are suitable. And, of course, the repair of the ceiling does not provide for just painting or whitewashing. You can use, for example, such types of its decoration, as hanging, tension, plasterboard, self-adhesive.

How to start repairing the ceiling?Naturally, with the preparation of its surface, although in some cases it is not required. There are two main ways to align - the so-called "dry" and "raw".

The first is to apply some mixtures to the pre-prepared ceiling.

The "dry" method is the use of panels, racks andother "dry" finishing materials. It does not require any preparation. If the surface difference is not more than 5 cm, in this case, the "raw" method is acceptable.

If the difference in height is not more than five millimeters,then it can be sealed with a leveling putty. It is spread over the ceiling with a thin layer, then it is ground using fine-grained sandpaper.

If this difference is from 2 to 5centimeters, then only one putty will be already small; first you have to put the so-called "bandage" - that is, reinforcing mesh. It can be metal or paint. The first type resembles a medical bandage, it is sometimes called a serpyanka. Glue it to the ceiling with PVA glue or other reliable types of glue. The main thing is that it should be well fixed. There is also a self-adhesive version of the Serbian.

Unlike the mesh, metalis fixed not with the help of PVA and similar means, but with special staples, nails with a wide cap or hooks. It is advised to fix on all types of joints and joints. After the plaster has dried, a layer of putty is applied to smooth the surface. If the finish coat is painted, then a preliminary primer will also be required. Experts advise using materials from the same manufacturer for the "compatibility" of materials.

There is a group of false ceilings. These are designs that do not require

suspension, but are attached directly to theof the base surface. Materials used for the installation of false ceilings: polystyrene plates (durable, strong, non-flammable, have original design), boards from particleboard (their minus - contain substances harmful to health), gypsum boards (have sound and heat insulation properties, perfectly flat) . The latter require additional painting or sheathing. Such boards are glued to the ceiling with glue - PVA or CPC. Gypsum plasterboard materials are used if the room has a height of more than two and a half meters.

It is necessary to talk separately about the stretch ceiling. Its advantage is good

waterproofing and easy installation.This, in fact, a vinyl film, fixed on an aluminum or plastic profile. The latter are fixed by means of screws and dowels. Repair of the suspended ceiling depends on the type of damage. A small puncture of the vinyl film is corrected by gluing. If there was a cut at a distance of 8 to 12 cm from the wall, then the stretch ceiling must be unfastened, cut off the canvas on the side of the cut and weld the harpoon again, and then reinstall the structure.

While repairing the ceiling in the bathroom, remember that you only need to use moisture-resistant materials.
