After the death of the great Russian poet Sergei Alexandrovich Yesenin in his native house, a museum dedicated to his memory was opened in the village of Konstantinovo.
With a request to open a museum of memory of Sergei Yesenin tothe secretary of the Ryazan regional committee of the CPSU (B.) was addressed by the poet's mother. After examining her request, it was decided to acquire the house in which Sergei Aleksandrovich Yesenin was born and lived in the ownership of the state.
The museum in Konstantinovo was organized soonafter the death of the poet in 1926 as a hut-reading room.
