The Constitution Square in Kharkov is the central square of the first capital of the Ukrainian SSR, which was built at the same time as the Kharkov jail in 1659.
The Constitution Square in Kharkov has a length of 550meters, the width varies in different places from 45 to 120 meters. The total area of the park is 4 hectares. Under it are 2 stations of the Kharkov Metro: "Constitution Square" and "Historical Museum". The first one is located at the Kholodnogorsk-Zavodskaya metro line between the stations "Central Market" and "Prospekt Gagarina". The second - end station Saltov line.

Unfortunately, not all the sights of the square have survived to this day. During the war the hotel "Krasnaya" was destroyed. And in the 70's. from the square they removed the German tank "Panther".
Almost a quarter occupies the Palace of Labor. This building was erected in 1916, thanks to the works of the architect I. Pretro. Initially, it was an income house of the All-Russian Insurance Company "Russia".
The Palace of Labor, located on the Constitution Square,1, is a fairly common architecture in the city, built on a combination of residential and commercial area. At the moment, the whole residential part of the house is completely superseded, as all the floors of the building are occupied by offices of companies and various companies. The patio serves as a transit between the area Constitution, Kvitky-Osnovyanenko Street and R. Luxemburg Square.
In 2011-2012.in Kharkiv was the reconstruction of the square, after which, instead of a monument to the Bolsheviks (heroes of the Civil War), a monument of independence (called "Nika") was erected. The monument was cast from bronze, its height is 12 meters.
Before that, the house of architects was closedcompetition, in which 9 authors' groups took part, where sketches of sculptors from Kharkov, the Russian Federation and the United States of America were presented.
Most of the jury approved the sketch "FlyingUkraine ", which personifies the goddess Nika, standing on a ball with a wreath in her hands. Such sculptures are in Tallinn, Paris, as well as in Prague.
At night from 30 to 31 December 2015 in the Kharkiv metro replaced the tablets for a new name - Metro "Constitution Square".
