Ointment "Exoderyl" refers to the antifungalpreparations intended for topical administration. Naphthyfine is used as an active component in its composition. It is a synthetic antimycotic that is part of the group of allylamines. Ointment "Exoderyl" has a fungistatic, bactericidal and fungicidal action. The mechanism of its action is based on the ability of the drug to inhibit the biosynthesis of ergosterol in a fungal cell. Ointment "Exoderyl" causes a lack of ergosterol and promotes the active accumulation of squalene in a fungal cell. This, in turn, leads to the death of the fungal cells.

For the drug is also characteristic fungicidalaction directed to dermatophytes, yeast-like, yeast and mold fungi. Ointment "Exoderyl" is very effective against a number of gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms.

Local use of the active substancepromotes penetration into the skin layers, thus creating its high concentrations. The penetration of naphthyfine into the systemic circulation is no more than six percent. The active substance absorbed in it is partially metabolized and exits the body with bile and urine.

"Exoderil" cream is prescribed for fungal skinlesions that are caused by microorganisms that are sensitive to the action of the drug. These include the epidermophytosis of the feet and skin folds, trichophytosis, fungal infections of the scalp, candidiasis skin lesions, fungal nail lesions. The drug is also indicated for patients with complicated secondary infection of bacteria with fungal infections and with otreichnymi deprive. Medication in the form of a solution and ointment (cream) is used only externally, tablets "Exoderyl" for oral administration are not produced.
